WWE and Mars, Inc Tuesday announced an expanded partnership where Snickers and Skittles will receive significant visibility and consumer engagement across WWE’s global platforms beginning at WrestleMania. For the fourth consecutive year, Snickers will serve as the exclusive presenting partner of WrestleMania. Snickers’ presenting partnership of WrestleMania will once again feature WWE Superstars promoting the brand’s popular "You’re Not You When You’re Hungry" campaign in custom content produced by WWE. The creative will air on Raw and Smackdown as well as across WWE’s global digital and social platforms. “WWE Superstars can’t perform in the ring and live up to their larger-than-life personalities if they’re hungry,” said Josh Olken, Brand Director, SNICKERS. “We’re thrilled to be back for the fourth consecutive year as the presenting sponsor of WrestleMania, making sure that no one across WWE’s passionate fan base is hungry when getting their WrestleMania fix.” “WWE is thrilled to expand our partnership with Mars and provide two marquee brands, Snickers and Skittles, with valuable exposure across our global platforms,” said John Brody, WWE Executive Vice President, Global Sales & Head of International. “Snickers will once again leverage the massive platform and global fan base that WrestleMania provides as we bring their ‘You’re Not You When You’re Hungry’ campaign to life in new and creative ways.” As part of the broadened relationship, Snickers has released five limited edition Hunger Bars with WWE that include the catchphrases of five Superstars on the packaging: The Miz = Awesome, Lana = Ravishing, Bobby Roode = Glorious, AJ Styles = Phenomenal, and Rusev = Brute. The bars will be available beginning next Monday, March 18, through mid-April, exclusively at Dollar General stores across the country. Fans can also look out for a special digital coupon on Snickers singles items, as well as a digital “Superstar-Yourself” experience on DollarGeneral.com. The partnership will also include a Snickers brand presence at WrestleMania Axxess plus custom digital and social content sponsorships on WWE.com and YouTube as part of a multi-platform media campaign. Continuing the relationship, Snickers will serve as the presenting partner of WWE’s Hell in a Cell event this September.. This will include cross-platform promotion via WWE’s global media channels, a co-branded custom integration that will air in the telecast, and additional partnership activations that will be unveiled in the coming months.
ECW originals like Tommy Dreamer, Bully Ray & Rhyno still may be roaming the in-ring wrestling scene, but they aren’t the only extremists still keeping their blade sharp. Full-Blooded Italians founding father Little Guido James Maritato still slaps on the boots from from time to time and so does long-time seasoned veteran Tracy Smothers. It’s been revealed by Tommy Dreamer that the two former Full Blooded Italian OGs will be returning for the House Of Hardcore “Farewell To The Fairgrounds” show on June 1st in Nashville, TN.
Mick Foley met and had breakfast with Sheffield United soccer player Billy Sharp. Foley was invited to Tuesday’s game after Sharp did a Mr. Socko goal celebration in January.
“Latin Heartthrob” Al Perez had a storied wrestling career that took him through Jim Crockett Promotions, WWF and WCW. He recently reminisced about his career in an interview with The Hannibal TV. Perez revealed one name he didn’t like – the legendary WCW and TNA star Sting. “I didn’t care for Sting,” said Perez. “We were in the dressing room one time and this is pretty bad. They had these fan fests in there. Sting was one of the guys there that really stood out, and another one died so I’m not going to say his name, but these kids came in using a wheelchair. They were handicapped asking for autographs and were in bad shape. Sting goes, ‘Hey, how are you doing?’ and he signs the autographs. As soon as they left, him and a couple other people started making fun of them. I didn’t like that at all. That was the lowest anyone can get.”

PWInsider is reporting that Fighting With My Family will be released on Blu-Ray, DVD, and digital on May 14. The biopic takes a look at the rise of former WWE Diva’s Champion Paige. Also, HBO’s Andre The Giant documentary will be released on DVD on April 15.
AJ Styles is going nowhere as the former WWE champion has just signed a new WWE deal. Styles took an unusual method to announce he’s staying with WWE, posting a photo of a puppy on his Twitter and writing, “This is the newest member of my family. Also, I’ve signed a new contract with the WWE. What a cute little guy.” The Phenomenal One is being advertised for non-televised live events in May on WWE.COM. His deal was set to expire in April. AJ had a fantastic year in the WWE, holding the WWE title for a full year before dropping it to Daniel Bryan this past November. His former Club tag team partners Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have still not signed a new deal and have been taken off all events pending further negotiations.
Charles Barkley on ESPN Thursday night mentioned Ric Flair having surgery Friday. It isn't currently known what type of surgery it was. Oklafan wishes him a speedy recovery.
Oklafan extends condolences to Kevin Morgan, whose mother passed away a couple of weeks ago.
Oklafan congratulates Reed, who got engaged March 16th.
Oklafan is saddened to report the death of Roger Kirby, who passed away from pneumonia he contracted in the hospital while being treated for a broken hip. He was also suffering from stage 4 pancreatic cancer and was 79 at the time of his death. Kirby, whose real name was Willis Kirby, was the cousin of pro wrestlers Les Thatcher and Dennis Hall. A former Golden Gloves boxer, he got into an altercation with promoter Ron Shire after standing on the ring apron during a show. Soon after that, he was introduced to his cousin Dennis and began training, initially competing under the name Bill Baker. Kirby travelled extensively across the United States and because of a friendship with Buddy Rogers, whom he was a close friend of, he soon began utilizing the “Nature Boy” moniker and dyed his hair blonde. Initially a tag team competitor with his cousin Dennis, he eventually broke away into singles competition and began capturing regional titles in various areas in the late 1960s. On May 20, 1971, he defeated Danny Hodge in Tulsa, OK (though some sources say Shreveport, LA) for the NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title, marking the pinnacle of his career. He would hold the title for almost four months, primarily feuding with Hodge, Tom Jones and Ramon Torres before losing it to Torres on September 10, 1971 in Oklahoma City, OK. Kirby would return to tag team competition late in the 1970s, winning more titles with Paul Christy. He would finish his career in the WWF in 1986, where he wrestled a couple of matches and refereed some, but decided that he did not want to slowly fade away, instead retiring while the memory of him as a top competitor was still in many fans’ minds. After retirement, Kirby settled outside Kansas City, MO where he worked at the local newspaper and bred exotic fish. Oklafan recognises 11 documented matches for Kirby in Oklahoma. The earliest was on April 9, 1971 for TSW, where he defeated Silento Rodriguez in Oklahoma City. And the last was the aforementioned title loss to Ramon Torres on a TSW event in Oklahoma City.
