Dickson Native Herrell Set For Final Curtain Call At “No Way Out”
Posted: Nov 30th 2018 By: Evan Brice
All good things must eventually come to an end, even in the world of professional wrestling.
Saturday night, Dickson native Joe Herrell will get to take his final bow in front of his hometown.
Herrell, who will be wrestling under the persona of “The Chickasaw Warrior Ky-Ote” will be just one of the many performers who will be participating in the fifth annual Toys for Tots “No Way Out” event which will be put on by World Class Revolution Pro Wrestling Saturday night at the Dickson High School Gymnasium, with doors opening at 6 p.m. and matches beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets start at $5, but general admission tickets are free with a toy donation at the door.
The main event will see Ky-Ote taking on Jerry “The Boss” Bostic in a steel cage match.
For Herrell, even though this chapter of his life is ending, he’s more than satisfied with the journey he’s been on all these years, especially ending it in his hometown of Dickson.
“I’ve been wrestling for 12 years, and I’ve been able to accomplish all my goals in this industry,” Herrell said. “Now I feel like it’s time to set new goals in my personal life and to accomplish them. Plus, I’m pretty beat up after all these years.”
“I have to say that getting to wrestle for World Class Revolution has been an experience I’ll never forget,” Herrell added.
“I’ve help build this company from day one, and I’ve gotten to make friendships that I never thought would be possible. This has brought myself and my wife Heather closer together in so many ways. She travels with me to every event, and she’s my merchandise and booking manager. I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am today without her. She’s the best wrestling wife I could have ever asked for.”
Throughout his career, Herrell has held the WCRPW World Tag Team Titles on more than one occasion as part of the “Arrow Club” faction, along with holding multiple other titles throughout the country.
He’s also gotten to wrestle in various promotions throughout the country, including Ring of Honor, Impact Wrestling, and WWE, among many others.
In addition to wrestling in these various promotions, Herell has gotten to be in the ring against the likes of John Cena, and the famous Von Erich family on multiple cards.
“Joe Herrell will go down as one of the most celebrated wrestlers of all time from Oklahoma,” World Class Rev CEO Jerry Bostic said. “His career speaks for itself, and he is the very definition of world class. To be able to work his last match with him means the world to me. I’ve shared my whole wrestling career with him, but it’s time he closes this chapter on his terms. I love him like a brother.”
Herrell added it’s fitting he gets to close out his career in Dickson against Bostic.
“When we came up with the idea for World Class Revolution Wrestling, myself and Jerry were just two guys in furniture store,” he said. “Jerry had previously owned a wrestling company called UWF, and that’s where I got my start along with so many other guys. Jerry was my first wrestling boss, and it’s fitting that he’s my last one in this business
