Chris Jericho And Jim Ross Reportedly Planning To Launch New Wrestling Company
Posted: Oct 19th 2018 By: Josh Foster
Chris Jericho and Jim Ross have quite a bit of experience in the world of professional wrestling, and it looks like they’re trying to put their experience to good use.
SEScoops.com is reporting that Chris Jericho and Jim Ross have been working with renowned agent Barry Bloom to put together a new wrestling promotion.
JR’s WWE contract is set to expire soon, but he reportedly declined an offer to sign a new deal. Ross has been sending out feelers to talents in WWE, while Jericho is said to be handling the New Japan side.
The project is set to be financed by the Khan family. Shahid Khan owns the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and Fulham F.C. of the English Premier League, and is one of the wealthiest men in the world. Shahid’s son, Tony, has been hands on with the project as he’s a big professional wrestling fan.
The company is moving ahead with the idea that the promotion will likely take significant financial losses for the first couple of years.
Cody Rhodes, The Young Bucks and Hangman Page are said to be on board, and according to the report this project is what they’ve been alluding to when talking about sticking together when they make their next move.
The timeline to launch the promotion is late 2019/early 2020, and talks are underway with AXS to secure a TV deal.
