A new generation of Von Erichs come to San Antonio!
Plus Scott Steiner and more as River City Wrestling and World Class Revolution Pro present "United We Stand" on Sept. 8
The Lone Star State is well-known for its traditions and proud heritage. When it comes to professional wrestling and Texas, few things have more tradition than the Von Erich family. On Saturday, September 8 at Retama Park Horse Rack Track in Selma (San Antonio), River City Wrestling (RCW) and World Class Revolution Pro (WCR) present a night of wrestling called "United We Stand." Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the event begins at 8 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at http://www.rivercitywrestling.net/ or http://bit.ly/sept8tix
Ross and Marshall, the sons of Kevin Von Erich, headline this spectacular event. It has been decades since the Von Erich family has come to the Alamo City. Kevin's father, Fritz, operated World Class Championship Wrestling based out of Dallas from 1966-1990. Before World Wrestling Entertainment went national (and eventually global), professional wrestling was divided into fiefdoms throughout the country. Each organization held its own territory, with World Class controlling Texas and having a weekly television show on ESPN. World Class' top stars were unquestionably Fritz' sons: Kevin, David, Kerry, Mike and Chris. Kevin is the only surviving member from this group but the legacy lives on with his sons Ross and Marshall. The event on September 8 at Retama Park affords wrestling fans the chance to see and meet the new generation of Von Erichs.
In addition, "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner will be in attendance representing WCR. Steiner is a former three-time world champion and is more than capable of destroying anyone in his path.
RCW Champion "The Monster" Abyss (6'8", 350 lbs.) will defend the title against the 450-pound Fallah Bahh. RCW Women's Champion Rebel will put her title on the line...on her birthday, nonetheless—against Barbi Hayden.
Plus, what would a big San Antonio wrestling show be without some lucha libre? IMPACT Wrestling & Lucha Underground star "Super-Mex" Hernandez will team with Dr. Maldad to face Street Boy and "El Principe del Tornillo" Baby Black.
RCW is sponsored by Roof Doctor, Las Chiladas and PlayLive Nation at Culebra Commons.
