Drift Away: What Is the Status Of Los Loco Moscas?

Drift Away: What Is the Status Of Los Loco Moscas?

Posted: Jun 29th 2018 By: Michael Hunt

As in life, partnerships in wrestling can end several different ways. Often times, tag teams implode, with one member turning on the other, a feud resulting. Sometimes, partners split to pursue singles goals and the parting is amicable. But sometimes, partners drift apart without any real discussion of ending the team. And that can leave one member confused, especially if the other goes on to be more successful.

One of the more unique pairings in Oklahoma this past year has been Los Loco Moscas, consisting of El Greengo Loco and Elijah Sparks. Both wear masks and could be considered “superhero” type wrestlers. While Greengo has been around longer and held the BPPW Oklahoma Tag Team Titles with Karnage for one day, it was not until his partnership with Elijah that things seemed to turn around for him. Not to say that partnership got off to a stunning start. Their first official pairing saw them lose to then-BPPW Oklahoma Tag Team Champions Legion, Shawn Shields and Rob Cabella. Three weeks later, LLM got their revenge when they defeated Legion for the BPPW Tag Team Titles in a Triple Threat that also included the team of Bill Black and Jamie Holley. Neither challenging team look extraordinarily likely to upset the champions. Holly and Black did not get along and LLM were too new of a team, on paper. But the young fired costumed performers pulled off the upset and were thrilled to be tag team champions.

That thrill ran into a roadblock on November 11, 2017 when they faced the debuting team of the New Level of Heavy Metal. Will Luminati and Jesse Pantera (as he was then known) took the champions to limit and the end result was a No Contest. That forced BPPW Commissioner C. M. Burnham to sign a rematch and that took place on January 1st, 2018, when NLHM won the titles, ending the dream of the Greengo and Sparks.

This also seemingly ended the partnership of the duo. They would compete once at ASP, where they lost to the Saints of Pro Wrestling. But in BPPW (or BPW, as it would soon be known), Sparks became embroiled in a feud with Spike Lopez. That stretched over a couple of shows and then Sparks formed a tag team with Super Mojo, calling themselves the League of Justice. Meanwhile, El Greengo...did very little. He teamed with Aeronaut and they were destroyed by the team of Dave Ryda and Lockdown at the first event that BPW held at Torchy’s Cadillac in Sapulpa. But aside from that, Greengo made no real impact in BPW.

But there was no defining moment of separation. No point where one man pointed at the other and said “You did me wrong.” They just seemingly drifted apart. And while Greengo is a funny guy, he also needs guidance. Elijah and Mojo soon found comradery with Paul Puertorico and Aeronaut and joined Space Age, but Greengo seemed to go a different way.

On June 21st, BPW once again returned to Torchy’s and a 6-Man Tag Team Match was set up. It saw the Space Age team of Elijah Sparks, Aeronaut & Super Mojo on one side, facing off against Caleb Oxley, The Canadian Red Devil and....El Greengo Loco! This seemed like a rather bizarre combination and it soon became apparent that was somewhat of a reluctant partner. Obviously looking for acceptance, he took CRD and Oxley up on their offer to tag with them in the match, but Greengo wanted to do things his way, which only served to upset Oxley and CRD. And across the ring, all three Space Age members, but especially Elijah, begged El Greengo to come join them, reminding him that he didn’t have to do what they said. Nonetheless, Greengo worked as hard as he could to be compliant to his partners, but in the end, it didn’t work out and the Space Age trio found themselves victorious.

CRD was not happy with that result and immediately challenged Elijah to a drinking contest. Elijah seemingly accepted, but after Oxley made the countdown, Sparks kicked CRD in his testicles and threw down the shot, proudly stating that he does not drink. Then Space Age gathered up the fallen El Greengo and helped him to the back, having seemingly reconciled.

That reconciliation didn’t seem to last too long as Sparks and Greengo found themselves in the ring again on June 23rd in a Triple Threat Match with The Canadian Red Devil. Greengo gained the win in this match, but the question remains: has he solved whatever issues existed between himself and Elijah Sparks? Will these two tag again? El Greengo Loco has not responded to any requests for interviews and some sources suggest that he is either taking time off or his career may be over. Whatever the case, hopefully if Elijah needs help to fight the villains with Super Mojo, El Greengo Loco will be available to answer the call in the near future.
