Jake Boulder injured in fall and facing long recovery

Posted: Jun 18th 2018 By: Mike Iles

Jake Boulder is known as “Big Country”. He is one of the most popular wrestlers in Mid-States Wrestling history. He is a former Heavyweight Champion and a 3 time Southern Tag Team Champion. He now faces a long recovery after a recent non-wrestling related injury.

He began his wrestling tutelage under former NWA World Champion Sonny Myers. Boulder’s career has been successful everywhere he has been. In All Star Wrestling, he held the Heavyweight Title. When ASW and Mid-States Wrestling began their partnership, Boulder’s career took off. In July 2008 at a Southern Independent Wrestling Federation in Kentucky , he partnered with Jason Jones to defeat War Party for the Southern Tag Team Titles. It was the first of 3 title reigns for Boulder & Jones, known as The Old School Express. They feuded with both The Gentlemen Thugs and The Jet Setters over the titles and they faced them in companies around Arkansas and Oklahoma.

In mid-May, Boulder fell off a 10 foot ladder and was injured. Immediately after the fall, he was in ICU in a medically induced coma and on life support. Several pro wrestlers posted on social media sending good wishes to Jake with the hashtag #FightJakeFight. He has since regained consciousness and is currently in rehab in Nebraska. He has a long road ahead of him but he has been and always will be a fighter.

A portion of the tickets and merchandise sales for the June 23rd Mid-States Wrestling event in Harrison, Arkansas will be donated to Jake for his recovery and medical bills.

If you would like to make a donation to Jake's medical fund, you can do so at MSWTickets.com.
