An Open Letter To Sooner World Class Wrestling Fans

An Open Letter To Sooner World Class Wrestling Fans

Posted: Aug 29th 2007 By: mikeiles

In my many years of ring announcing for a number of different organizations, I have seen and heard many things both in and out of the ring that one might call "distasteful." But nothing I've experienced compares to the events which took place at the end of the Sooner World Class Wrestling show of August 19th. Those of you who attended know exactly what I'm talking about. SWCW Commissioner Mike Iles' refusal to give the third and final count when Heavyweight Champion "The Party Man" Rick Garrett had the contender Striker pinned was reprehensible enough, but the ensuing superquick three-count when Striker rolled up Garrett to become the new SWCW Heavyweight Chamption was the single most repulsive act I've encountered to date. Adding to my revulsion, the betrayal to me and the fans by Iles, who had previously portrayed himself as a stand-up kinda guy, plus the obvious deception and collusion of Striker, a wrestler whom I once held in high esteem. IN RESPONSE AND IN PROTEST OF THOSE ACTIONS, I WILL BE BOYCOTTING THE NEXT SWCW SHOW, THIS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 1ST. HOWEVER, THIS BOYCOTT WILL NOT BE EFFECTIVE UNLESS YOU, THE FANS, SHOW UP EN MASSE!!! The reasoning is simple. With my absence, Commissioner Iles will be forced to take up the announcing duties, ensuring his presence in front of the crowd for the entire show, and giving you the chance to let him know just how you feel about his actions the previous show. I will miss performing for you, the fans, but sacrifices must be made to restore the kharmic balance. I will return for the next show, barring any unforeseen x-factors. Thanks, and God bless each and every one of you.
