Now this would comeback story for the ages. The selection process for the WWE’s official Hall of Fame has always been a bit clouded to say the least. Thanks to new reports and rumors coming out this week, former WWE wrestler Jeff Jarrett is the latest name to come up as a potential candidate for the WWE HOF.
Yes, that Jeff Jarrett.
Yesterday (Feb. 14) PWInsider released a report/rumor that said the former six-time WWE Intercontinental Champion was next in line for a Hall of Fame induction in the class of 2018.
“There are guys inside of WWE that have come to me and said that they have heard Jeff Jarrett is being inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame. While I have no idea that this is the case or not but there certainly seems to be some smoke floating around. Whether there is fire to that smoke, I don’t know.”
After the Jarrett news broke, Sportskeeda spoke with Mike Johnson of PWInsider and confirmed the quote was taken out of context and he was misquoted.
So, Jeff Jarrett is definitely going into the WWE Hall of Fame unless he isn’t?
Beginning in 1992, Jarrett had two runs with the WWF. Jarrett signed with the WWF and continued until he left the company after a contract dispute following the 1996 Royal Rumble. After a one year stint with WCW, Jarrett re-signed with the WWF in Oct. 1997.
Jarrett’s second WWF run saw him capture the IC, European and tag-team titles.
Currently featuring Goldberg, Ivory and The Dudley Boyz, the 2018 WWE Hall of Fame induction ceremony takes place on Friday, April 6 from the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana.
If not in 2018, will Jeff Jarrett one day enter the WWE Hall of Fame?
