Dean Brother Fends Off Singles Challenge In Preparation For Tag Team Competition
Posted: May 31st 2017 By: CMBurnham
BPPW Oklahoma Tag Team Champion Christopher Dean is having a stellar year. In addition to capturing those tag team titles on two separate occassions, he also is slowly establishing himself as a singles competitor in BMLL.
But like many successful up-and-coming stars, Dean has found himself having to compete against established stars who refuse to give up the spotlight as well as other newcomers that don't want to share the spotlight. This has not deterred Dean in his mission to be one of the best competitors in northeast Oklahoma.
Since BMLL reopened its doors, Dean has found himself continually running afoul of Karnage. At the first April event, Dean faced off against Karnage and was victorious. Two weeks later, at a BPPW event, Karnage teamed with his on-again/off-again frenemy, El Greengo Loco and upset Team Dean Machine for the BPPW Oklahoma Tag Team Titles, only to lose them back to the Deans the next night. Karnage certainly wants to prove a point against Christopher Dean, but Dean refuses to allow Karnage to succeed in that venture.
This past Saturday, it appeared Dean would get a break in his issues with Karnage as he was booked to face off against Ray Martinez. Despite it being a BMLL show, Martinez was certainly not a sympathetic favourite to the crowd, wearing a Donald Trump cap and espousing much of the unpopular rhetoric of the current president. Dean showed all the fire and determination that he has since the beginning of his career and seemed to be on his way a victory over the more experienced Martinez when Karnage and Namoi made their way to the ring. They did nothing to interfere, but their simply presence at ringside provided enough of a distraction to allow Martinez to hit a Choadbreaker and get the win. Karnage and Naomi entered the ring afterwards and showed thier support for Ray while helping him from the ring, leaving Dean all the more confused by their actions.
Things became a little clearer father intermission as Karnage once again appeared in the ring. He took the microphone and expressed his disappointment at Dean, claiming that Dean took cheap shots at Ray in order to gain the victory. He implied that there was no way that Dean could do that to him and called Dean out. Dean was more than happy to answer that challenge. Obviously, the potential distraction by Naomi was constantly in Dean's mind, but Dean remained focused on his adversary, picking up another victory and hopefully silencing the criticism forever.
With Karnage seemingly dealt with, Dean can now prepare to look to the challenge of teams like The Rising and Legion, plus any other teams that may be entering BPPW. As a tag team champion, Christopher, along with his brother Jerry, must remain prepared for any and all challenges. At this point, if Karnage wishes to continue the issue he has with Christopher, he will may have to find a partner to do so with.
