JR's Blog: Huge Orlando/RINGSIDE Show News, Will World of Sport Return to ITV?, Hardy's to WWE?, Congrats Beth Phoenix!

Posted: Feb 28th 2017 By: Jim Ross

Greetings to all and thanks for stopping by our site. Please consider bookmarking it and visit often. We thank you all for your support, as always. Another fun, Ross Report podcast week with 2017 WWE Hall of Famer Teddy Long joins me on the show this week to tell his story of his amazing career.

Our Orlando RINGSIDE with JIm Ross and Friends shows are gaining momentum and our Slobber Knocker VIP tickets are getting scarce. With our Orlando VIP tickets, you get early entry at noon, the best seats in the house, a meet/greet with yours truly, personalized autographs, Photo Ops, and a fun chat with me and the other VIP ticket holders.

Tickets for our annual, Wrestlemania RINGSIDE shows are available at www.ticketfly.com starting at only $25, while they last. Doors will open at 2 pm for all general admission ticket holders and our Orlando shows will both start at 2:30 pm and will end at approximately 4 pm.

Both shows will feature several, "firsts" including the first time that Tony Schiavone and I have taken any stage to talk about the Monday Night Wars from two men who had unique vantage points for that piece of history along with the acclaimed novelist Paul O'Brien, my writing partner for 'Slobber Knocker... My Life in Wrestling' who was a huge, fan in Ireland of the Monday Night Wars.

On Sunday, also starting at noon with our VIP guests we will feature an unofficial, Wrestlemania pre game gathering featuring outspoken guests who have all been immersed in Wrestlemania creative, performing and more. Bruce Prichard and Jim Cornette will join me on stage to take your questions on any topic including Wrestlemania which will kickoff in Orlando only a few hours after our show ends.

More rumblings out of Manchester, England regarding the return of the iconic, World of Sport broadcast on ITV. Discussions are ongoing and the project certainly has a pulse.

I won't disrespect the dead but I must admit that I did not shed any tears when I heard of the death of Bruiser Bob Sweetan in Canada last week at the age of 76. Sweetan was an unsavory character who was a natural, pro wrestling heel back in the day with main event level skills but he had little integrity and was a legit bully who loved to pick his spots including picking on the defenseless McGuire Twins, among others. I will have more on Sweetan in our upcoming autobiography and we generally have a story or two regarding him in my RINGSIDE Shows.

Nonetheless, to Sweetan's family and friends, I wish you condolences.

Anxious to see where the Hardy Boys wind up but make no mistake that they will have no issues finding, viable work from a variety of promoters. Matt and Jeff would be a great addition to a WWE roster specifically if WWE is committed to Hardy friendly creative for the duo who started in WWE and who I would suggest should wind up there when the time comes. This is a big loss for Impact if this goes down this way.

This would be a significant "get" for WWE if WWE can close the deal. But make no mistake, with the Indy scene as it currently it, Matt and Jeff and create plenty of good paydays doing their own thing especially when it pertains to their merchandise business.

Expect more talents to likely leave Impact Wrestling as that is the norm for the biz when creative and management changes are made. It's akin to a sports team replacing their coaching staff with a new one. The new style/philosophy doesn't always fit for all the incumbent talents.

I'm encouraged that Jeff Jarrett and company will do a good job with whatever they have to work with in Impact Wrestling.

Drew Galloway is departing Impact as many of you are aware but the Scottish star also won't be looking for work for long. After seeing Galloway in action, in person, recently I can tell you that Drew has emerged as a top hand and can work in main event bouts for any company currently promoting pro wresting.

Grilling season is approaching and I invite you to visit any Ingles Market through the Southeast USA plus order online for quick, home delivery at www.wweshop.com and www.americansoda.co.uk for JR's delicious BBQ Sauce, Jalapeno Honey Mustard and Chipotle Ketchup plus our All Purpose Seasoning.

Congrats to Mrs Adam Copeland aka Beth Phoenix for her induction into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2017. What a class act, a great, in ring talent, wife and mom. I hope that her husband Adam Copeland aka Edge inducts her. Wouldn't that be a first for a spouse to induct their better half?

I also loved that Beth wrestled on her boy's high school wrestling team.

Sad to see so many bitter fans complain about Beth's selection because Joanie Lauer wasn't inducted. Joanie's day will come if it is meant ot be and I for one hope that 'Chyna" does get inducted some day. Those sentiments are immature and unnecessary.

Teddy Long has one of the most intriguing stories of career survival and growing up African American in the South that you will ever hear. We talk about that this week on the Ross Report podcast that drops Tuesday nights at 9 pm ET/67 pm PT on www.podcastone.com, iTunes and here on the homepage of this site. You will enjoy this show.

One should expect a major component or two added on Monday Night RAW for the upcoming Goldberg vs Kevin Owens bout for the Universal Title. It needs it.

Not heard any thing to confirm or deny, but I'd be surprised if the scheduled HHH vs Rollins bout at Wrestlemania doesn't happen in spite of Seth's most recent knee injury. I hope that it happens as it should be a helluva bout. HHH wrestling in a six man tag in Toronto prior to Mania could lead one ot assume that this is being done to knock off some ring rust.

Talking to Kevin Nash and Pete Gas tonight for future, Ross Report Podcasts.
