NEWS
Jeremy Quinn III, the heir to the Quinn Industries fortune, has expressed interest in purchasing Asylum Championship Wrestling from Brandon Bishop, who said that ACW was not for sale. That did not sit well with Quinn or Quinn Industries members Jonathan Blaze and Ryan Davidson and a melee ensued which ended up being an impromtu fight between Bishop and Davidson until Quinn and Blaze attacked Bishop leaving him lying in the ring.

The back of the case for recently released "Best of Abyss" DVD lists two matches that are not actually on the disc. Monsters Ball 1 from "Victory Road 04" and Abyss vs A. J. Styles from "iMPACT!" in October of 2006. This is the not first time TNA has made this mistake. This happened with not only "The Best of the X Division Volume One" but "Sting: Return of an Icon" as well.

TNA's "The Best of Jeff Jarrett" DVD which hits stores on September 18th will features 8 matches (4 from the weekly era and 4 from the monthly era), a documentary on Jarrett's career, an exclusive interview, a photo gallery, music video, backstage footage and more.

ShopTNA.com will debut a new series of life-size wall posters in the coming weeks, featuring Samoa Joe, A. J. Styles, Sting, Kurt Angle, Christy Hemme, and Gail Kim.

Matt Morgan was serving as Jim Cornette's bodyguard at the "TNA iMPACT!" TV taping on July 30th in Orlando, FL. Morgan was present in Cornette's office and was at ringside when Cornette made his announcements.

Sources have indicated that talks with Rikishi and TNA are now coming to a close and is rumored to start with the company shortly after the "Hard Justice" pay-per-view event. Rikishi has been working and promoting shows in Italy since his release from WWE.

There were rumors last week that the TNA X Division Title would soon be phased out. With the recent addition of Andrew Martin and Matt Morgan along with reports of signing Rikishi and A-Train, it would appear that the X Division is going by the way side. Current story lines right now only focus on the heavyweights such as Kurt Angle, Christian Cage, Sting, Jeff Jarrett, Abyss, Tomko, and Scott Steiner. At this time, it is believed that Kurt Angle will defeat Samoa Joe in the Winner Takes All Match and Angle will form an alliance with a yet to be named partner and carry the TNA Tag Titles while the World Title and X Division Title will then be unified there by phasing out the X Division title. This is similar to what WWE did years ago when for a short time they phased out the Intercontinental Title by unifying the World Title and the IC Title.

In the "Worst Timing Possible Award" for Monday on WWE 24/7's Legends show, the topic was backstage heat. Jerry Lawler was a guest and they brought up his breaking Paul Heyman's jaw with a punch in the 80s. They asked him if he did it on purpose. He said yes, and said he even waited two
nights to do it so it wouldn't be obvious.

Comedian Brendan Burns in "The Scotsman", when asked about his favorite things, mentioned his favorite book was "Have a Nice Day" by Mick Foley. Burns said wrestling is much like stand-up, it's the only other art form where they adapt what they're doing based on crowd reaction.

In the latest issue of "Marines", the official magazine of the US Marines Corps, there's a section where they list former Marines who made it on television as stars. In the full page section, pictures of TNA's BG James, and WWE's Randy Orton and Sgt Slaughter are shown. Under James' photo and name there's 'Total Nonstop Action Wrestling' listed while under Randy Orton there's 'World Wrestling Entertainment' and under Sgt Slaughter - who is listed under his real name of Robert Remus' - there's 'World Wrestling Federation.' Oops! They made the list along with other notable TV personalities such as Montell Williams, Ed McMahon, Mills Lane, George Peppard, Drew Carey and others.

WWE Hall of Famer, Greg "The Hammer" Valentine, made a special appearance at BCWA, a backyard wrestling promotion based out of Michigan. He participated in an autograph signing, then later, cut a promo following a brawl with two of BCWA's top wrestlers. It was a quick appearance prior to the XICW show he wrestled in later that evening. BCWA has an official site (BCWAonline.com). Here's the video showing the brawl and promo he cut in BCWA:YouTube.com/watch?v=F3KxL09BKp4

There is an article on Bobby Heenan at
www.chicagosuburbannews.com/forestview/homepage/x126631200. It noted Heenan's relatives once ran a hardware store in Berwyn. He called Bruiser the only human being in life that he really hated. Of course he loved Crusher. He said he's remained tight with The Baron, Jim Brunzell, Angelo Mosca, Harley Race and Larry Hennig.
