A Dogg In The Storm At Texoma

Texoma Pro Wrestling’s first show under its fresh new brand features a barn-burner main event, pitting the world heavyweight champion against one of the most accomplished big men in the sport.

Tim Storm, who won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in Sherman, Texas, less than a month ago, returns to one of his favorite venues on Friday night (November 18) to do battle against Louisiana’s Redd Dogg Rodney Mack in a non-title match.

Mr. Storm told The Tribune he is looking forward to climbing into the ring with the Lafayette brawler, a WWE veteran who currently holds hard-earned title belts in Chicago, Arkansas, and Memphis. Mr. Mack is among the most decorated independent professionals in the game today.

“Rodney Mack has been on the prowl for gold all over the world,” Mr. Storm said from his Dallas-area gym on Wednesday night. “I know the Dawg is hunting for more this Friday night.

“But he is walking into the Storm.

“It's going to be a dog fight in my yard,” the World Champion said. “I'm going to do everything can to make sure it is Rodney who leaves licking his wounds.”

Not content to rest on his laurels, The Perfect Storm has already defended his NWA World Heavyweight Championship belt three times since his October 21 victory over one of the toughest men in the sport, Godzilla Jax Dane. The belt won’t be on the line this coming Friday night, but Mr. Storm knows his foe from Louisiana presents a serious and dangerous challenge.

“I’ll be ready,” the champ said, “but so will the Dogg.”

We managed to catch a quick word with the Dogg following his afternoon workout in Bayou Country. “Dogg days are comin’ to Texoma!” he said in a tone that deserves the exclamation point. “I’m ready to inflict some serious damage before I pillage The Storm’s backyard.

“You watch, Ebenezer,” he said. “I’m gonna leave outta there with yet one more banged-up champ on my resume,” he continued. “Tell Tim Storm to prepare for a dogg fight.”

If we quote him correctly, Rodney Mack ended our quick chat with this: “Hhhhooooowwwwwwwllllllll.”
