Greetings and welcome to our site. It's great to be back home in Norman, Oklahoma after being on the road for 5+ days last week in Los Angeles and in Charlotte. Also excited to welcome @KingRicochet to the Ross Report podcast this week as a new show will drop on Tuesday night at 9 PM ET on podcastone.com and iTunes. Please subscribe to The Ross Report for FREE on iTunes and you will never miss a show, they will not be delayed being downloaded and will automatically be downloaded into the device of your choice every Tuesday night.
My wife and I had a wonderful time in Charlotte this past week participating in the NWA Legends Fan Fest for promoter Greg Price. I loved seeing so many old friends including my former broadcast partners Bob Caudle and Tony Schiavone. The Friday night Hall of Heroes banquet was well done and very moving especially when Terry Allen aka Magnum TA inducted the late Dusty Rhodes into the Hall of Heroes with Dream's wife Michelle and daughter Teil accepting the award.
The VOD section of www.nwalegends.com has a ton of footage, interviews and Q&A's for your enjoyment and I encourage you to check it out.
VIP All Axxess tickets for next year's Fan Fest are also on sale now at www.nwalegends.com if you want to get a jump on 2017. I'm hopeful of returning to Charlotte if the arrangements can be made.
NFL Hall of Fame game canceled at the 11th hour with many fans already in their seats is embarrassing for all involved. Feel bad for the fans who traveled to Canton to enjoy the game and then were told that it was a not going to be played. If this had been an XFL game back in the day many in the media who the NFL has by the testicles would never have let the XFL live it down. The NFL never wanted the XFL to survive and they got their wish.
Bad football did not help the league's cause either I will admit but we did have a blast broadcasting the games. .
Really enjoyed appearing on the SEC Network's @Finebaum show last Friday. Love talking football any time I get the opportunity.
My management team and I are working on a movie project and had a productive meeting last Tuesday night in Los Angeles with Oscar winning director John Avildsen (Rocky 1..Karate Kid, etc) and his son Ash. Wrestling will be the backdrop but it's a story about much more than that. We brought the concept to the movie people and they love it. Stay tuned.
There's a good chance that I will be traveling to the UK in October for a couple of unique projects that certainly have my interest. If they materialize, they will definitely be nostalgic for me.
Of course they will not necessitate me missing any OU Football games.
Loved my conversation with @TheLethalJay on The Ross Report and the feedback that we've received has been excellent. Thanks to all that subscribe to our show at iTunes and listen to each week. BTW...Jay Lethal is a great pro and a credit to the wrestling business.
Getting a ton of Conor McGregor questions regarding his recent outspoken remarks regarding WWE and the pro wresting business in general of which I will address this week on The Ross Report Podcast. Is it much to do about nothing or is there an ulterior motive afloat?
Any one else a Ray Donovan fan? Love this show and it rocked this week on Showtime.
The Q&A's are updated elsewhere here on the site. Check them out if you have the time and submit your questions if you have any.
Josh Barnett and I voiced over seven NJPW shows last week for AXSTV including some content from Wrestle Kingdom 10 from the Tokyo Dome. While some of the content was stellar, as one would expect, there was also some bouts that had too much duplicity and "spots for spots sake." I am a big fan of New Japan Pro Wrestling but some of the talent's in ring decisions were arguably head scratchers.
RINGSIDE with Jim Ross is coming to Baltimore on Friday night September 23 at Jimmy's Famous Seafood and I will be joined by the incomparable Jim Cornette for an intimate Q&A session that should be entertaining as hell. Tickets are on sale now at MissionTix.com but are going fast.
It looks as if I will do my first RINGSIDE show in Nashville this fall and details will be forthcoming. Looking forward to this one for sure.
Tickets for our RINGSIDE shows in Orlando during Wrestlemania 33 weekend will go on sale the day after Summer Slam on August 22 at www.ticketfly.com. Only 100 VIP meet & greet tickets wil be available per show so grab them early.
