JR's Blog: Senseless Tragedy in Dallas, #UFC200, @HeymanHustle, KD & Westbrook, @BretHart Radio, @AXSTV, New, Film Opportuity

Posted: Jul 9th 2016 By: Jim Ross

Our thoughts go out to all those affected with the senseless ambushing of Dallas police officers by the cowardly assassin who chose to anoint himself executioner and in the name of what? This violence must end and it also must become a priority and not a matter to be glorified by various media outlets and people with personal agendas. This type of behavior cannot continue. What will you do to be a part of the solution? Whatever it is, please start now because our tomorrow's are not guaranteed.

Excited to attend UFC 200 Saturday night and experience UFC's biggest event ever and to see former WWE Champ Brock Lesnar's long awaited return to the octagon. Lesnar is a decided underdog vs hard hitting puncher Mark Hunt. As predicted, I seriously doubt that this fight will get out of round one much less go three rounds and Lesnar fans can only hope that Octagon rust, striking defense and the inability to take Hunt down will not be Lesnar's downfall. If Lesnar can weather the first minute or so storm against Hunt, who will likely be looking for an early KO, Brock's chances to win should increase.

The women's title bout is now the main event of UFC 200 which is an acknowledgement that the females are a large part of the genre as they should be. Bravo to Dana White and company for making this call. Curious to see if Ronda Rousey wil have a role int his show closing fight as she is still the alpha female in the eyes of many in the MMA world.

We have a meeting on Saturday in Vegas regarding a major movie project that we have been approached to participate in that will be of interest to many of you. More details on this one soon if all goes well.

Is too much being made of the Lesnar vs Randy Orton bout at Summer Slam that was announced this week? Orton's shoulder issues have been addressed but many feel that this is a challenging booking for RKO due to the dependence of Lesnar's vaunted "Suplex City" offense. This is not a concern to me and I feel that this bout can be special while keeping in mind that there are multiples ways to execute this match effectively.

This Summer Slam scenario with Lesnar could certainly be amended or tweaked depending on the outcome of Saturday night's UFC 200 outcome. Bottom line is that we all hope that Lesnar can leave Las Vegas as healthy as one can be after engaging in a high level fight featuring two, heavy handed heavyweights.

I'm interested in how the storyline for Lesnar-Orton is presented on WWE TV as one would assume that both will be "drafted" to the same brand when WWE holds their July 19 draft. No doubt that @HeymanHustle Paul Heyman will be deeply involved in this process even though we have not seen Lesnar or Heyman on WWE TV since Wrestlemania in Dallas.

No Paul Heyman in this presentation won't do it any favors.

TNA Impact wrestling moving to Thursday nights on Pop TV to avoid conflicts with the live, WWE Smackdown broadcast is something that I talked to Jeff Hardy about this week on The Ross Report podcast. It makes sense by and large but once again the TV audience wil have to 'find' the show on the new night which will slow down the growth of the audience without question. I might have considered changing the air time of the show and keep in on Tuesday night so as to make this transition a bit more doable but hopefully this move to Thursdays will extend the shelf life of the battling brand who had one of their best ratings weeks in some time thanks to The Final Deletion storyline featuring Matt and Jeff Hardy.

Speaking of Final Deletion, in addition to Matt Hardy for his original idea, congrats also go out to TNA's Jeremy Borash who was instrumental in the editing of the 18 minute vignette that is the pro wresting 'talk' of the week.

FITE TV has a special, four hour, 14 match compilation of AJ Styles bouts entitled AJ Styles: The Missing Matches that 's available for only $1.99 @FITETV. This program features many never before seen bouts of AJ's including bouts versus Matt Hardy, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Christian Cage, and Jeff Jarrett to name a few. Plus, there is a special sit down interview with AJ as well.

Remember that there is also a ton of FREE, pro wresting content available on the FITE App. If you have a smart device and WiFi then you are all set to go any where in the world.

Enjoying reading the feedback on this week's The Ross Report podcast featuring Eric Bischoff and a 'drive by' with Jeff Hardy. This is one of our best shows and I hope that you will download it for FREE and enjoy it. Thanks to all who support our growing podcast brand.

OklaMania will be here before you know it and for all the info please check out www.imperialwrestlilngrevolution.com. Tickets are on sale at www.ticketmaster.com. Some of wrestling's biggest names will be with us in Oklahoma on July 16 in Shawnee and on Sunday July 17 in OKC. I hope that you will jon us as well.

Buy Kevin Durant saying that him signing with Golden State felt "real" and "authentic" does that mean that the felt that this tenure in OKC wasn't the same? Did Durant have unspoken issues with the team's other superstar player Russell Westbrook? What ever it was, it seems obvious tha KD did not feel that slaying in OKC did not give him the chance that he coveted to win a NBA Title.

Rampant speculation exists that Westbrook, an LA native and former UCLA player, will not stay in OKC past this upcoming season and will likely bolt to return to Los Angles either for the Lakers or the Clippers when his final year commitment is up in OKC. If true, OKC has to orchestrate a trade for Westbrook so that they get something out of him before he departs and not end up empty handed like they did with free agent Durant leaving town.

Would you be willing to gamble that Russell Westbrook stays in OKC and run the risk of losing both KD and Russ and getting zero in return? I wouldn't.

I will be a guest soon the Bret Hart radio show of which I'm looking forward to doing.

Josh Barnett and I return to AXSTV for NJPW next Friday July 15.

It is annoying that many on Twitter who follow us at @JRsBBQ regularly ask when I'm returning to WWE to broadcast and are completely unaware that I'm back broadcasting pro wresting on AXSTV. Admittedly a much smaller stage than is WWE but a great product to broadcast nonetheless and I have a super partner in @JoshLBarnett.

@AlBernstein and I return to Cancun for boxing on the CBS Sports Network on Saturday night July 23. It;'s great to be a part of a new endeavor and to be able to work with such a great pro as is Al Bernstein.

I've written several blogs here this week I hope that you will check out. Q&A's updated too.

Thanks for stopping by and go out and do something nice for someone who's not expecting it.
