WWE icon 'Hackshaw' Jim Duggan to host fundraiser for Kershaw County Sheriff's Office

WWE icon 'Hackshaw' Jim Duggan to host fundraiser for Kershaw County Sheriff's Office

Posted: Jun 8th 2016 By: Matthew Stevens

Kershaw County resident and WWE Hall of Famer "Hacksaw Jim Duggan" will be hosting a meet and greet to help raise funds for the Kershaw County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit.

Duggan came to notoriety in the WWE in the late 80's and into the 90's with WWE and WCW. His 2x4 wielding, All-American person made him a fan favorite. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011.

"Hacksaw" will be at the Camden Chick-fil-A from noon to 2pm Saturday. Duggan wanted to give back to the sheriff's office after reading how their K-9's repeatedly are used to catch criminals, find missing persons and track down illegal drugs.

Sheriff Jim Matthews noted that the county does not have specific funds for the the K-9 unit and that the costs to keep the unit a float are far from cheap.

"Hackshaw Jim Duggan came up with this fundraiser idea on his own and we deeply appreciate his willingness to support us," said Sheriff Matthews.

Donations can be made to the Kershaw County Sheriff's Foundations, a 501 (c) 3 tax exempt entity by making out a check to the foundation. They can either be brought to the fundraiser or mailed to the Kershaw County Sheriff's Foundation at PO Box 664 Camden, SC 29021.
