Report: Goldberg Could Return To The WWE For One HUGE Match
Posted: Jun 7th 2016 By: Providr.com
Bill Goldberg has not been in the wrestling ring in over a decade but now it seems fans may see the heavyweight champion facing off in the ring again. Goldberg has a number of accolades under his belt from his time wrestling, and if he was to return it would be a HUGE match.
There were some rumours going around during WrestleMania that Goldberg was approached by the WWE to make an appearance in a big event. Considering Goldberg?s resume, it is obvious why it would be such a big deal if he returned he was a force of nature during his wrestling career.
Goldberg is a two time World Champion, a one time WCW World Heavyweight Champion and a one-time World Heavyweight Champion in the WWE. He was a huge draw for the WWE and headlined a lot of pay-per-view events during his career.
Hall of Famer Arn Anderson has said that Goldberg was as popular as Hulk Hogan at the peak of his career, he stated that Goldberg ?Was as hot as anybody has ever been in the history of this business.? Since leaving wrestling Goldberg has been a commentator for MMA fights and even hosted the tv show ?Garage Mahal? on DIY Network.
Fans have been hoping to see the Heavyweight Champion in the ring again for years now, and it seemed as though it would never happen.
Perhaps the first clue that we will be seeing him in the ring again is the fact that he will be appearing as a character in the WWE 2K17 video game that is coming out October 2016.
Goldberg retired from wrestling back in 2004, but he did make a return to professional wrestling in June of 2015 at Entertainment Impresario Uncle Louie?s Legends of Wrestling show in New York furthering fans hopes he would return to the WWE.
Goldberg being a character in the next WWE videogame will expose him to the new generation of wrestling fans, upping his chances of actually wrestling for the WWE.
Doing an interview with WWE they mentioned that in the video game it allows you to create your dream matches and asked him what his dream match would be in real life.
?Oh man, there?s a list that?s a mile long of potential victims I never got the opportunity to wrestle in an actual ring that I?d love to make happen for the first time in WWE 2k17. I?d love to wrestle a Bruiser Brody or Andre the Giant from the past. There were Steve Austin or Roman Reigns, who wasn?t even around when I was in this business.? he responded.
In the same interview, WWE asked Goldberg ?Do you think you have one more match in you?? and Goldberg had a promising response.
?I?ve got 50 more in me. It just depends on the ability to keep it up to my standards. I love everybody to death and I greatly appreciate their opinions, but none of it matters except for mine, because I hold myself to such high standards.?
Even though he is now 49 years old it seems as though the wrestling legend may deliver to all his fans and appear in the ring again, he is certainly teasing everyone with the idea.
The ?Wrestling Observer? reported that while the relationship between Goldberg and the WWE is a bit contentious, they both know what a big deal it would be if they could work something out.
Negotiations have not started, but both parties are ready to negotiate a deal for one more major match in the WWE.
It is always exciting for fans to see old favorites, especially one that has not been active in the scene for so long to make a return. Everybody loves a comeback and we are waiting and hoping for Goldbergs.
