Challenges Accepted! Erica Overcomes Male and Female Talent In Busy Weekend!

With the reputation of being the most accomplished woman on the current Oklahoma roster, Erica has no problem standing up for herself. Especially when challenged to to break new ground and stand up for herself both as a wrestler and a woman.

Erica faced double duty September 12th as IZW presented an event in the morning as part of the "Cops and Kids" event when she answered the open challenge of Maddox Jones. Jones had come out at the beginning of the show, interrupting ring announcer C. M. Burnham's welcome to the crowd. Jones went on a rant, talking about how great he was and how no one in the locker room could handle him. But that rant took a different bent when Erica came out and confronted Jones. Jones, who turned the conversation in a misogynistic bent, made it clear that he believed that Erica and women in general had no place in the ring so Erica challenged Jones to put his money where his overactive mouth was. And an impromptu match was on. Jones, who was larger than Erica, gained a temporary advantage, but had no long-term hope as Erica's amateur background allowed her to pin the aspiring rapper and send him to the back with his man-card in check.

Erica could consider that the preliminary match, but for her, the main event was later that night as she would face Paige Turner for the IZW Queen's Crown in Oklahoma's first ever Women's Ladder Match. Again, the odds were not in her favour as Turner had her new BFF, Lisa Generro, at ringside for the match. And Generro was not content to remain a passive observer in the situation. Nonetheless, Erica did what she does best: rise to the occassion. And this time, she rose to the top of a ladder, bringing down the sack with the ever-so-precious tiara, allowing her to once again reign over her kingdom.

Having now regained her crown, the challenges that face Erica are still numerous. In addition to the ever present threat of Turner and Generro, the newest and biggest threat that Erica has coming at her is Skylar Slice. Slice was brought in as a mercenery by Generro and while she did her duty the night of her IZW debut, it was pretty obvious that Slice wanted to be the alpha female herself. This past week, Slice received another 1-on-1 match against Erica. As in the first one, the physical domination that Erica endured was nothing like she was accustomed to in her other matches. Slice, despite a significant experience disadvantage, consistently overpowered Erica again and again, coming close on many occassions to ending Erica's 5th reign after only one week. But a quick schoolgirl allowed Erica to escape with her tiara intact.

Erica will continue to do what is necessary to represent the women's division and Oklahoma wrestling in general, no matter what the challenges put in front of her.
