New Age Syndicate Say They're Ready For Street War
Posted: Jun 27th 2007 By: CMBurnham
For almost two months, tensions have been building between The New Age Syndicate and The South Side Soul Assassins. This isn't an issue of titles or money, it's pure pride. The Assassins are determined to prove that they've been overlooked this whole time and deserve recognition as one of the top tag teams in MSWA. The SSSA believe they're next in line for the MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Championship and, if they can just get the Syndicate out of their way, they can make a run for that gold.
The problems between the 2 teams seems to trace back to May 13, when they faced each other with 3rd Rail and Tyson James coming out victorious. While on the surface this would seem like nothing spectacular, it began a covert plan of attack on the part of the Syndicate. Their first strike was made on May 27 when Shawn Sanders and Tyson Jaymes faced off in a 1-on-1 match. Jaymes came to the ring by himself while Shawn was accompanied by his twin brother Scott Sanders. Halfway through the match, 3rd Rail came down to the ring with a steel chair to try and even the odds, due to the distraction on the part of Scott Sanders. But Scott reveals a chain which he uses to choke out the massive 3rd Rail on the outside while the referee is trying to control the action on the inside. This match would be ruled a Double Countout, but the damage was done. 3rd Rail seemed to have a chink in his unstoppable armour for the first time in a long while and even the late arrival of Se?or Media-South II wasn't helpful. When Rail regained consciousness, he was completely irate and embarrassed, attacking both Media-South and Jaymes before stalking to the back to try and find the Syndicate.
Seeing that they had gotten inside 3rd Rail's head, the Syndicate showed up at the SWCW show on June 16. They sat in the front row, as they often do, but this time, they had a specific interest in the event. 3rd Rail was set to face MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champion Outlaw to determine the #1 contender to the SWCW Title. When Rail arrives, the Syndicate could be seen pointing at Rail and miming choking motions. Since they were paying customers, Rail could not take out his aggression on them without possibly losing his wrestling license, so he focused that aggression on Outlaw and won the match. But all the while, he knew that he wanted to make the Syndicate pay.
Last Sunday, The Syndicate and the South-Siders met again and once again the chain came into play. Again, 3rd Rail was choked out. Again, he was embarrassed and irate. But this time, the Syndicate gained the victory, giving them even more ammunition in their feud. Tyson Jaymes quickly came to his partner's defence after the match, levelling huge punches to the heads of one of the Sanders twins, but it was too late. Again, 3rd Rail took his embarrassment out on his partner, literally knocking him on his butt as he stormed up the aisle.
With this situation getting completely out of control, MSWA commissioner Halo stepped up to try and set up final confrontation. He ordered a No DQ match to be held on May 8 between the 2 teams. If the Syndicate wants to use the chain, they can. But this time it will be legal.
Both teams seemed thrilled by this decision and want nothing more than to get their hands on each other. All 4 men were among the 20 entrants in the Battle Royal to determine the #1 contender to the MSWA Mid-South Title. The Sanders' were eliminated by 3rd Rail, but then reached up and pulled him over the top rope themselves, causing him to be eliminated. Not wanting to be left out, Tyson James jumped over the top rope, eliminating himself from the match, and the 4 men battled each other back to the dressing area.
Given the hatred that both teams have for each other, can even a No DQ match solve their problems? And more importantly, can either team come out of this match in the same shape they went in? Oklafan contacted the New Age Syndicate to try and get some comments about their forthcoming war and they were short and succinct: "We've already choked out 3rd Rail with a chain and then at the last show we knocked him around with another chain! On July 8, I dont have to use just a chain. I can do whatever I want and there will be No DQ! So Rail and Tyson...sorry about your damn luck"
