Greetings everyone! Just to set the record straight, our RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Show in New York City on Saturday August 22 will go on as scheduled starting at 8 pm at the Gramercy Theatre with the VIP Meet/Greet/Photo Ops from 6pm-8pm. About 40 VIP tickets remain at www.ticketmaster.com and the box office. General Admission Tickets start at only $25. We realize that there is competition that night against us but we are staying with our plan and hope that our fans will support us.
Lots of work done today here in Norman on the documentary film Mid Atlantic Memories that will debut on Thursday July 30 in Charlotte at the NWA Legends Fan Fest. After getting a closer look at more of the footage, I am even more impressed with this project and so excited to lend my voice to it. I encourage you to pre order the film via www.nwalegends.com (receive a FREE, signed collector's card) where you can also get tickets to the fan fest and all the info you need on the four day extravaganza that is loaded with stars and activities. The first night alone includes the World Premier of the film, plus the first ever RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Show in the Carolinas followed by the Jim Cornette Experience. Again, visit www.nwalegends.com for more info.
After a quick stop over in Memphis at the end of the week, I will be MC'ing the NWHOF Banquet in Waterloo, Iowa in conjunction with the Dan Gable Museum which features the Lou Thesz/George Tragos Pro Wrestling wing of the hall. I can't urge fans enough to be a part of this weekend and make sure that you visit the museum sooner than later. The pro wing is loaded with amazing artifacts that you will not see any where else in the world. Follow them on Twitter @wrestlingmuseum.
Happy to see the TV ratings for Tough Enough rebound. With fewer contestants still alive, the show should continue to get more compelling as it will allow the viewers to get to know the prospects better. The format is unique to say the least but I'm more interested in the participants giving us their true selves and not attempting to play the role of what they perceive a pro wrestler is supposed to be. Just as in life, simply be yourself and when you want to be noticed or 'heard' simply AMPLIFY!
Part two of my Ross Report podcast with Mike Tenay is tracking to earn even bigger numbers this week than last. Check it out for FREE at podcastone.com, iTunes, and here on the site on the homepage. Subscribe for FREE at iTunes as it helps us a great deal and is certainly appreciated. Next week, it's ROH's Mike Elgin joining me on the podcast.
One of the nicer and more effective 'builds' recently in TV wrestling has been the job that TNA has done with EC3. He's a natural villain who looks like a star and now it's up to the talent to continue to develop his game, stay hungry and learn every villain nuance that he can. What's old is now new of which he should keep in mind.
We're adding Justin Roberts, Demolition, Jackie Gayda-Haas w/ Alicia Webb aka Ryan Shamrock, and Steve Corino to our podcast schedule that can be found on the home page of this site. I also hope to record some podcasts while I'm in Charlotte at the NWA Legends Fan Fest and have earmarked Lance Russell and Bob Caudle as two of the most wanted of a list of desirable guests. I'd actually love to have them on together.
We're still working on details to finalize RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross Shows on Friday Sept 11 in Knoxville and Sunday September 20 in Houston. If all the pieces fall into place we hope to know something concrete by week's end.
Man, I'm getting some really asinine questions about the WWE announcer's memo that has been going around the internet. I'm having a hard time understanding the fascination with this document.
For the record, I am and have said on many occasions that Gail Kim is one of my ALL TIME favorite performers of any gender. She's Canadian of Asian decent and a beautiful person inside and out. When pitching me hiring her, was I wrong to say that many men were attracted to Asian females? I obviously should have used a better illustration to explain that point than mentioning Asian adult websites being revenue generators but it was merely to illustrate my point as unfortunate as it was in hindsight. My problem is that I am honest and have no issues admitting when I make an error in judgment, if one was made, but the web site point wasn't what got Gail hired in WWE. It was her ability in the ring and the fact that she did have a great look. She is a credit to any organization that she's affiliated with and i'd hire her again tomorrow if given the opportunity.
I guess I should be happy that so many folks are listening to the Ross Report Podcast.
As I write this we have approximately 20 VIP tickets remaining for our show in Washington D.C. on Wednesday August 19 at the DC Improv hosted by @chaddukes. General admission tickets are only $25 & are available at dcimprov.com and the box office.
Great UFC PPV Saturday and I will be in Waterloo following on Twitter. Don't think that 1. Lawler vs. MacDonald can't steal the show or 2. that Conor McGregor can't lose.
The two, best female wrestlers to arguably come along in approximately a decade @SashaBanksWWE and @MsCharlotteWWE will go nose to nose again next week on NXT TV which is all the reason that you need to make sure that you watch the broadcast. Catch now while they are on NXT because they won't be there much longer IMO.
