Stackouse Makes Big Impact On MSWA Roster

Stackouse Makes Big Impact On MSWA Roster

Posted: Jun 17th 2015 By: Michael Hunt

A big man like Sam Stackhouse can be a difference maker. And Stackhouse came to MSWA to make a difference. When he left 2 weeks ago, there was no doubt that he was a force to be reckoned with no matter who was across the ring from him.

Stackhouse interrupted MSWA commissioner C. M. Burnham in the opening moments of the MSWA event on June 5th. He said that he was there because he had heard there was a tournament for the MSWA Cruiserweight Title and he wondered why he was not entered into it. Obviously, this question from a man who is announced as weighing in at more than the scale can handle did not seem reasonable to Burnham and it appeared that he was on his way to dismissing the behemoth. But after some quick consideration, Burnham recognised that there is precedent in Oklahoma as both John O'Malley and The Great Bolo 2nd have held Cruiserweight or Light Heavyweight titles in Oklahoma. So with that to consider, and always with a mind to provide people an opportunity to prove themselves, Burnham agreed that Sam could try to qualify if he could defeat ComPro Oklahoma X Division Champion Paul Puertorico. Puertorico is already considered to be one of the top contenders for the MSWA Cruiserweight Title, but had yet to officially qualify, so this match was certainly an uphill battle for him. And despite his size, the agility that Stackhouse has displayed repeatedly in the ring would not make it a typical big-man/little man match. In the end, it was the experience factor that allowed Puertorico to pick up the win as he caught Sam with a Superkick and pinned him for the victory.

That was not the last the fans would see of Stackhouse that night. Later on, MSWA Oklahoma Champion Spike defended his title against Scott Sanders. Despite the presence of the Saints of the Pro Wrestling at ringside, Spike overcame the odds and hit a Spear for the win. After that, the Saints entered the ring and one-by-one, Spike took them all down with a Spear. At that point, MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champion Largus RagnaBrok entered the ring and Spike went to spear him as well, but Largus side-stepped, causing Spike to collide with the corner post. The Saints then regrouped and each it their finisher on the Oklahoma Champion until Stackhouse reappeared. It looked like he might be making a bid for the Oklahoma Title, given is lack of success in the Cruiserweight division, but instead, Stackhouse began to lay out the Saints. While Spike has always been one to stand alone in defence of his title, he was certainly appreciative to have Stackhouse there to support him that night.

And the Saints seemed to have made an enemy as he was certainly a factor after the main event, which the Saints were not even booked in. That match saw Mascara La Parka and The Canadian Red Devil team against Largus and ComPro Tag Team Champion Bobby Starr. Controversy arose quickly as the newest referee in MSWA, who refused to be identified and wore a mask in the ring, seemed to be favouring the Starr/RagnaBrok team. That referee, later revealed to be Brock Landers, was eventually thrown from the ring by CRD and Allen Arthur quickly made his way to the ring to continue the match. A schoolboy from CRD resulted in what seemed like a quick count from Arthur, but the fans were not upset as their favourites were victorious. And then a brawl broke out which saw almost the entire MSWA locker room pour into the ring. That battle eventually moved everyone to the outside except for CRD and Stackhouse. And then, the unbelievable as CRD irish-whipped Stackhouse, who dove through the top and middle ropes and crashed onto everyone outside, even knocking the ringside barrier back. ow everyone survived without injury is still being questioned today. But suffice it to say that Stackhouse made an impact. And when he returns to MSWA, whoever he is booked against needs to be prepared...and afraid.
