Famiglia Matters!

Famiglia Matters!

Posted: Jun 3rd 2015 By: Michael Hunt

In his short time in pro wrestling, ComPro Showtime Champion Wade Argento has proven himself a capable motivator, taking a wide assortment of misfits and providing them with the guidance to form a cohesive unit known as La Famiglia. Argento quickly cemented himself as the lead singles competitor by winning the Showtime title from Spike Lopez. Meanwhile Thomas Knight and Patient Zero have put together a team that certainly ended up being better than the sum of its parts appeared on paper. And the recent addition of Luke Grayson and is associate, Sophia, seemed to designate a challenger for the Oklahoma X Division Title.

But Argento is not one to just accept everyone. Competitors such as Electro and Goldeneye have come up sort in their auditions to become a member of La Famiglia. And Argento as made it clear that he is a demanding leader, not willing to tolerate any shenanigans from his associates.

Or at least that is the way he made it appear. But this past Saturday , Argento seemed to be all about the shenanigans. Thins commenced with a #1 contenders match for the Showtime Title as Terry Montana took on The Canadian Red Devil. After just a few minutes of fairly intense action, La Famiglia it the ring, causing the match to be ruled a Double DQ. Presumably, Argento did that to make sure no one was named #1 contender so he would not have to face anyone at the 200th show on June 13. But ComPro Co-Commissioner C. M. Burnham quickly put that idea to rest, instead announcing that if Argento was successful in his Showtime Title defence later that evening, he would then have to face BOTH Montana and CRD on June 13th in a Triple Treat match.

The shenanigans would continue later when Argento defended his title against fellow La Famiglia member, Luke Grayson. At first, it appeared that Grayson was going to be defiant as he took the microphone and said that he knew Argento expected him to be the good soldier and lay down, but that he laid down for no one. So the bell ran and the two men circled the ring, but as soon as they locked up, it was obvious that the fix was in as Argento pushed Grayson down from the Collar-and-Elbow tie up and then got the pin. Argento was elated and took the microphone, gloating in his victory and announcing that next, the fans would see more success from La Famiglia when Thomas Knight and Patient Zero became #1contenders to the ComPro Tag Team Titles.

In order for that be true, they had to get through the team of Seth Angel and Adrian Dell. And even though they had only been competing since April, Angel & Dell were tag team specialists in ComPro. They brought the fight to La Famiglia, knowing that they could not afford to waste this opportunity. And their hard work paid off as Dell and Angel were able to gain the victory and earn a match against ComPro Tag Team Champions Nemesis on June 13. After the match, La Famiglia, as an entire unit, commenced a brutal beating on Dell and Angel until the arrival of CRD and Terry Montana. With all those men and women in the ring, C. M. Burnham once again found it necessary to make an appearance and set up an impromptu 8-man tag team match. Sensing that even though is group was accustomed to functioning together, they were still being outclassed, Argento brought out the brass knucks that had brought him so many victories and applied them swiftly to the jaw of Adrian Dell. This was sufficient knock Dell out and allow La Famiglia to pick up the win.

And that was the point were the unexpected occurred. After celebrating the victory, Argento took the mic and said that all the other members of La Famiglia owed him championships and someone was not holding their weight. At that point, Grayson grabbed Knight and held him open to Argento. Argento continued the explanation, saying that the head of someone was not on straight and he needed to trim some fat from the group. Then, instead of hitting Knight, Argento spun and knocked out Patient Zero! Argento made it clear that he believed that Zero held Knight back and demanded a body bag, which they promptly used to stuff Zero into, eliminating him from La Famiglia.

At this time, reports indicate that Zero as suffered a severe concussion. It is unknown when, or if, he will be able to return to competition.
