WWE's chief legal counsel Jerry McDevitt filed a 47 page response to the Billy Jack Haynes lawsuit against the company. He was asking for the judge to throw out the case based on statute of limitations for such a claim, given that Haynes worked for WWF from 1986 to 1988, and also venue issues, since the suit was filed in Oregon and there are no allegations of any claims taking place in the state of Oregon. McDevitt cited a number of statute of limitations standards which were all long surpassed. He also wrote that Haynes made no attempt to explain how he discovered that his alleged depression and symptoms of dementia were specifically linked to concussions during the period he worked for the WWF.

WWE has successfully moved to get the lawsuits filed by Evan Singleton and Vito LoGrasso moved from Pennsylvania to Connecticut. They are also attempting to get the Billy Jack Haynes and Nelson Frazier (AKA Viscera) lawsuits moved to Connecticut. All WWE contracts specifically state that any legal action is agreed to be in Connecticut.

WWE released a statement ostensibly responding to Justin Roberts' Medium.com post about WWE massaging the Connor Michalek story, especially in light of Stephanie McMahon's "philanthropy is the future of marketing, it's the way brands r going 2 win" post on Twitter last Saturday. The statement reads as follows, "It is offensive to suggest that WWE and its executives had anything but altruistic intentions in honoring Connor and his legacy with The Warrior Award. In conjunction with Connor's father, Connor's Cure was established by Stephanie McMahon and Paul Levesque to raise awareness and funds for pediatric cancer, and to honor a boy that so many people within the WWE family came to love. The fund is managed by the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation and has already raised more than $200,000 for pediatric cancer research. In addition, following the Ultimate Warrior's impassioned Hall of Fame speech last year encouraging WWE to recognize its unsung heroes, the Warrior Award was established in his memory to honor those who exhibit unwavering strength and perseverance, and who live life with the courage and compassion that embodies the indomitable spirit of the Ultimate Warrior. With the full support and input of Ultimate Warrior's widow, Dana Warrior, Connor Michalek was the first recipient of the Warrior Award, and moving forward the award will be given annually to acknowledge other unsung heroes among WWE's employees and fans. WWE is proud to use our global platforms to raise awareness for important social causes, including Connor's Cure as well as our longstanding partnership with Make A Wish, our on-going partnership with Susan G. Komen, which has resulted in more than $1.5 million in funds raised, and our international partnership with Special Olympics."

It was noted previously that Rikishi didn?t mention former Too Cool partners Brian Christopher (AKA Grand Master Sexay) and Scotty 2 Hotty in his 2015 WWE Hall of Fame speech due to some sort of dispute over an independent wrestling booking. This led to Scotty complaining on Twitter the week following the HOF induction. In an update, it is being said that Rikishi made it clear that he didn?t want Scotty or Brian in person for the induction.

2015 WWE Hall of Famer Larry Zbyszko reportedly lost his acceptance speech and had to wing it. Larry?s speech was in a bag that he left in a taxi earlier in the day.

There was a Ray Stevens ring jacket on display at Axxess at the WrestleMania museum section which also featured mostly robes and memorabilia from Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior.

It seems that not even Scott Hall knew the logic behind the nWo trying to save Sting from D-Generation X at the "WrestleMania 31" pay-per-view last Sunday. When asked on Twitter why the nWo would save Sting considering all the times that he beat the group with a baseball bat, Hall replied, ?No comment?.$$$$$!? Sting and the nWo had a long history together so it was only natural that a few fans scratched their heads when the group, Hall, Hulk Hogan, and Kevin Nash, came out to Sting?s rescue in his match against Triple H. The moment, a ?WrestleMania Moment? for sure, saw DX and nWo battle for the first time against each other, albeit some 15 years late.

Ric Flair announced the creation of his new podcast last week when appearing as a guest on Taz?s "Human Podcast Machine" show. Titled "Wooooo Nation", the podcast will be part of CBS and their Play.it podcast network. Flair is the second wrestling personality, after Taz, to join CBS with a wrestling show. It?s not exactly known when Flair?s show will debut but the Nature Boy signed the deal with CBS almost two months ago. The show will not only feature professional wrestling but also other topics. He said that former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee will be one of his first guests on the new podcast.

Last week, former Canadian Football League star and wrestling legend Angelo Mosca was diagnosed with Alzheimer?s disease. Angelo had served the WWF in 1980?s as TV announcer. The video was of Keesaman demonstrating how to make a non-traditional peanut butter & jelly sandwich that he claimed was a 300 to 400 year old recipe.
