NEWS
As reported earlier this week, the second letter that was leaked this week from a former WWE developmental talent to WWE?s Canyon Cemen regarding how NXT head coach Bill DeMott treated them was written by Brian Breaker, who was known in NXT as Brandon Traven. Breaker commented on the controversy on his Twitter and said the letter that he sent while he was with WWE was leaked this week without his permission. He had several posts on Twitter "I haven't said anything publicly on the issue regarding my name on certain things. However I will discuss it on my next podcast. I never set out to seek attention positive or negative, the story was leaked by someone else. I was happy living my life being an Indy wrestler, having a podcast and spending time with my family which I had missed for 6 years. I've been getting a lot texts, messages calls etc. about my time with WWE when I was Brandon Traven..everything will be address on my own podcast so that you get the story from me and know one else. But know this, I leaked nothing it was sent out without my knowledge, I am not bitter. In fact I'm very happy with my life now, if you have listened to my podcast before you know I'm in a good place. But, what's out is out. And it will be addressed this Sunday https://t.co/TwdINClDwj @JudasDraven @JoeyRyanOnline".
Former RAW and SmackDown on-screen General Manager John Laurinaitis will be inducting The Bushwackers (Bushwacker Butch & Bushwacker Luke) into the WWE Hall of Fame come March 28th. Laurinaitis, who started his wrestling career in 1986 as Johnny Ace in Florida Championship Wrestling, was the flag bearer for Luke and Butch who at the time were known as The Sheepherders. Ace eventually then moved to the NWA teaming up with Shane Douglas as The Dynamic Dudes. John Laurinaitis is so far the second confirmed presenter at the Hall of Fame, with the only other one confirmed being Hulk Hogan doing the honors for "Macho Man" Randy Savage.
It was recently reported that WWE likely wouldn?t induct ?The Living Legend? Larry Zbyszko into the Hall of Fame this year but that his induction would come some time in the next few years. There?s expected to be a WWE Hall of Fame announcement on tonight?s RAW from Pittsburgh, where Zbyszko was billed from, and while that announcement is believed to be for Kevin Nash, there is still at least some speculation that they will announce Zbyszko for this year?s class.
Regarding Sting?s promo on last night?s RAW, it was his voice used but it was altered. The promo was inspired by The Black Scorpion, a WCW gimmick from 1990. The character was played by several wrestlers and feuded with Sting.
WrestlingDVDNews.com reports that the title of WWE?s upcoming Jerry Lawler DVD has been shortened from ?It?s Good To Be King: The Jerry Lawler Story? to ?Jerry Lawler: It?s Good To Be King.? It will still feature a documentary and the official release date for DVD and Blu-ray is May 19th. It?s now available for pre-order on Amazon.
The Prime Time Players (Darren Young & Titus O'Neil) have been added to the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania XXXI. The updated list of confirmed participants are The Miz, Curtis Axel, Ryback, Fandango, Adam Rose, Zack Ryder, Jack Swagger, O?Neil, and Young.
During Jack Swagger?s WWE promotional tour in the United Kingdom last week, he mentioned that he wants to do a ?Clash of the Real Americans? match with Hulk Hogan. The promotional tour was for WrestleMania and was on Sky Sports News.
Triple H was recently interviewed by Jonathan Snowden of BleacherReport.com. He was asked "You mentioned self destructive, and though it wasn?t in this context, it made me think of Mick Foley. I often think of the two of you together, because I think you really carried each other to new heights in those matches in 2000. Did you feel like those were the matches that got you ready to be ?The Game?? Triple H answered "Absolutely. And one of the things that working with Mick did, was show people ?wow, this guy will go through anything too.? I earned a different level of respect. I think for Mick and I, through all the different versions of us working together, we?re both trying to prove ourselves. Mick had worked with Undertaker and worked with Shawn (Michaels) and worked with Steve (Austin) when they were the top guys, but he was kind of the guy who was with them. I was a guy trying to come up too. I remember having a conversation going into the Royal Rumble in 2000, because we were the main event. We were the title match and headlining. It was a big moment for both of us. We both had something to prove that night. It was a step forward. We weren?t working with someone else who was a megastar. We both came alive that night." When asked about getting back into the ring to face Sting at WrestleMania XXXI, he said "Listen, it?s a lot of pressure. I haven?t wrestled since last year. Sting hasn?t wrestled in God knows how long. We were talking about how I?m getting up there?he?s 10 years older than me. I don?t know what I?ve got. I don?t know that he knows what he?s got. So, we?re going to see. I guarantee you this though?we will leave it all out there. We?re going to have 75,000 people giving us a lot of motivation to do it. I know for him, this has kind of been a dream he thought was never going to happen. Both stepping into the WWE ring and going to WrestleMania. I?m glad that we could make it work out for him?and for the WWE Universe. I think it?s something our fans are really going to enjoy, no matter how it goes physically, just being there and sharing that moment. Witnessing Sting at WrestleMania is huge for them."
