WWE fans hate Roman Reigns because of The Rock, says legend

WWE fans love to hate Roman Reigns right now. Even though the powerful wrestler is in line to main event WrestleMania in March, the majority of the WWE Universe can't wait to criticize the superstar and comment on what he lacks.
For the most part, WWE fans are right. Reigns lacks presence on the mic and can't seem to string a sentence together without tripping over himself.
However, WWE legend Ric Flair has another view and that includes WWE fans inability to see past his ties to The Rock.
Why is Roman hated?
Flair feels that Roman Reigns' relation to The Rock has somewhat hindered his popularity, with the legendary wrestler claiming that fans simply expect him to be as good as The Rock already. Something which Flair explained is totally unreasonable in an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport this week.
"I don't pay a lot of attention to him talking on the mic but I think he's okay. Fans look at Roman and they want him to sound like The Rock and that isn't going to happen," Ric Flair explained in an exclusive interview with GiveMeSport.
"The Rock didn't become The Rock overnight either though. It took him a few years as well to nail down who he was and what he was about."
Bright future for Reigns
Even though Roman Reigns may have his haters now, Ric Flair maintains that the superstar has a bright future. Flair says that nailing down your 'act' can take a couple of years and he insists it took all the greats including himself a lot of time to become the legends they are today.
"It takes time for young talent to grow. It's not just a name, they've got to build a brand," added Flair.
"Fans have to become attached to the brand and that's hard to do and it takes more than one or two years. Legends like Steve Austin didn't just turn up and start talking like that either, it took him time as well.
"Roman [Reigns] has got so much talent that fans are going to have to be patient with him. It doesn't happen overnight. If people are upset with Roman it's not over a lack of talent. Fans are always going to have their opinion, but Roman has a fantastic future ahead of him."
So is Ric Flair right WWE Universe? Are fans expecting too much of Roman Reigns too soon? Does he deserve a place at WrestleMania XXXI? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below.
