?Superstar? Dundee to wrestle locally ahead of retirement

AMORY ? The last time the Outlaw Wrestling Organization hosted a show at the East Amory Community Center, Memphis wrestling legend Bill ?Superstar? Dundee headlined. OWO action will return with Dundee Saturday, Jan. 24.
?This will probably be his last time here because he?s supposed to retire in October,? said OWO organizer Terrell Moore. ?He was on the wrestling that used to be on TV Saturday mornings but went back to the circus after that conference closed.?
Dundee was a trapeze artist in the circus and is now a marketing director for Cole Brothers Circus. He has wrestled for 38 years, according to Moore, and made appearances at Amory?s Old Armory at shows in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
?When you get a name like that who?s been wrestling a long time ? when somebody who was wrestling in the heyday when it was popular ? it?s amazing,? Moore said.
Dundee will wrestle X-treme Brett Michaels in the main event and the show will also feature OWO?s first ladies match between Anita Page and Katylenn Pride, along with the tag team championship and several other matches.
Moore is unsure when the next OWO show in Amory will be but doors for Saturday?s show open at 6 p.m. with belltime at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.owowrestling.com. For more information, call 315-9709.
