One Man Makes A Massive Impression
Posted: Dec 22nd 2014 By: CMBurnham
The past couple of months have seen a huge change in the attitude and intensity of Sam Stackhouse.
The former 3-time SRPW Champion seemed to be back on the path to the top of the company after winning a Triple Threat Ladder Match which earned him a contract for any title he wanted against any champion. But something happened between Stackhouse and SRPW management and that contract was voided. This left Sam rather bitter and upset and when Sam came out on October 25th, it was a very different attitude than had been seen over the past few months. Gone was the jovial attitude and the conradery with the fans. Instead, Stackhouse was now nothing short of a bully. And those bully tactics served him well in a decisive victory over Skyler Faden.
Two weeks later Stackhouse stepped into the ring again, hoping to dominate another less experienced foe. His opponent that night: Rob Davis. Davis, a former member of the Rising, had recently returned to SRPW and was attempting to make hiw way without the assistance of tag team partners of his former manager, Jameson Thadeous Doggins III. Davis put up a valiant fight, but a splash from the 2nd rope put Davis' hopes of victory away.
Stackhouse probably figured he would have a different opponent when November 22nd rolled around, but instead once again found himself facing Davis. Remembering the dominant success he had over the young upstart two weeks prior, Stackhouse figured to make short work of Davis, attacking him before the match,. The two then battled all over the ringside area, which Stackhouse clearly in the dominant position. Feeling extremely confident and exuding a massivelyl cocky attitude, Stackhouse went for a moonsault to put Davis away. Although he got some amazing elevation for a man his size, Stackhouse did not connect with Davis and Davis quickly executed a roll up and gained a surprise pin over the 400-pounder.
If Stackhouse was irritated by the actions of Davis before, things took a huge step up. The loss to what Stackhouse considered to be an inferior foe led him to once again attempt to reinvent himself. Now calling himself One Man Sam, he was booked to face Davis again on December 6. The two men fought tooth and nail and ultimately the match was declared a No-Contest. With issues still unresolved between the two, SRPW booked them into one of the most brutal matches known in professional wrestling: an I Quit match. It was a match where pinfalls did not count and the only way to win was to get your opponent to utter the words "I Quit". Despite being a bloody mess, Sam was able to do just that to Davis, presumably putting an end to this personal feud. Perhaps now Sam can put his focus back on regaining the SRPW Title and further cementing his legacy in the company. No matter what his future, though, he has proven that One Man can be a very dangerous person.
