Greetings all. WWEShop.com will be receiving another large shipment of JR's products at the latter part of the week and will then put them back on the http://www.wweshop.com website. Business has been really crisp there and at our partners in the UK, americansoda.co.uk an beyondtheropes.co.uk who both ship to the UK, Ireland and Europe. I'm certain that the longer that you wait the more likely that it is that inventory will run low or completely out. Order early to avoid this matter plus any unforeseen shipping issues. Plus our tee shirt partner in Chicago http://www.prowrestlingtees.com/jimross has virtually every size available and they ship worldwide. All JR's products make great, holiday stocking stuffers. Now....let's grill...
The @TheBobHolly podcast on the Ross Report has been nothing short of spectacular. If you haven't heard it I strongly suggest that you do and download for free at podcastone.com. Downloading and subscribing to the Ross Report is FREE and your subscriptions help us greatly and, again, cost you nothing.
Tuesday night on the Ross Report podcast I welcome Sean 'X-Pac' Waltman to the show for some frank and enlightening talk from a top hand who did not let his lack of size keep him out of a main event role in both WWE and WCW. Sean's life and career is an amazing story of abuse, demons, world travel, being in the KLIQ, DX, nWo, and more. This podcast covers some heavy ground as a warning.
I'm speaking with Adam Cole Tuesday afternoon for a future Ross Report and if you have questions please tweet them to me @JRsBBQ and use the hash tag #AskJR.
Next week, I will be joined by Jeff Jarrett to talk about WWE's TLC that is this Sunday. We will record on Monday and the show will be up the following day at the usual time of 9 pm ET. Plus we will discuss our involvement in Wrestle Kingdom 9 on PPV on Sun Jan 4.
UFC scored a walk off grand slam with @DanaWhite's signing of former WWE superstar @CMPunk. The signing itself was a major news maker plus the ability to document Punk's training for his first fight which is still TBA should make for great TV on Fox. Punk has long been an aficionado and student of MMA having trained in Muay Thai and Gracie Ju Jitsu. The 36 year old will likely become obsessed in his training and is used to being considered an under achiever which will serve as a motivator for the former WWE World Champion as many MMA diehards who want to see Punk get beaten to a pulp and every wrestling fan who wants to see the Chicago born fighter succeed.
I'm curious to see what camp Punk joins as that, to me, is a huge issue on how successful Punk will have a chance in becoming. Plus, there is no lock that Punk can make it successfully through a tough, organized MMA Camp.
Make no mistake about it, win or lose, Punk will sell PPV's especially on his first one and he will be as prepared as one an possibly be in the time that he has to train between now and fight night in the Octagon. I don't think Punk has any fear but he also is intelligent enough to realize that he's in an up hill struggle of which he's been before. Make no mistake, I'd bet every UFC fighter, young or old, with a pulse will be wanting to have Punks's first fight. Bottom line, Punk on PPV equals cash.
Punk, unlike Brock Lesnar, isn't a former NCAA All American or a D1 National Champion but his heart and passion may tell another story. If UFC plays there cards strategically, Punk's PPV debut will add greatly to any under card that is booked. The curiosity factor to invest in Punk's first PPV will be big time. Speaking of Lesnar, Punk signing with UFC adds another wrinkle to the potential negotiations with Lesnar and UFC and/or Bellator. Interesting days lie ahead as it relates to contract negotiations. Punk signing with UFC helps Lesnar's leverage without question.
Check out my piece on http://www.foxsports.com that was posted this morning.
WWE RAW is the final broadcast prior to this Sunday's TLC event. I find it unique that the 'go home' show is the Slammy broadcast which will pose an interesting back drop to selling TLC this Sunday.
Looking forward to watching the NXT live special this Thursday night on the @WWENetwork. The future of the WWE will be on display. Very interested in the Neville-Zayn issue.
I conducted a compelling interviewing, at least for me it was, with Darren Drozdov on Friday for another piece for FoxSports.com coming up soon.
Still smarting from the Sooners loss to their instate rivals Oklahoma State Saturday in Norman. At least my pal Gerald Brisco had a good day as he's a OSU alum. Funny how some Sooner fans have leaped from the Sooner Schooner but not me. I'm loyal to a fault.
I'm going to try to the bowl game in Orlando in late December where OU takes on Clemson with my pal defensive coordinator Brent Venables whose now at Clemson after many years at Oklahoma. Unfortunately, I'd make it home and then have to virtually turn around and then fly to Tokyo.
We're aggressively working on two, 'RINGSIDE w/ Jim Ross' shows in January in the northeast. Should have details this week if all goes well. If you're near Jersey or Philly keep your ear to the ground.
Still waiting on my broadcast partner to be named and I'd expect that to happen this week. We're down to a very short list and anyone on the list would be excellent.
The WWE is undertaking a hellacious week with RAW tonight, Tuesday's Smackdown and Tribute to the Troops content all done in a 48 hour period. Hard work across the board for the entire crew, especially the TV crew.
Thanks for stopping by and thanks for shopping JR's online for the holidays.
Q&A's are updated.
