WFC debuts in Claremore on December 7th to "Fight for Arleigh"
Posted: Nov 29th 2014 By: Mike Iles
As 2014 is beginning to draw to a close, Wrestling For a Cause has one more fight scheduled this calendar year. And it is "The Fight for Arleigh", a local girl who is fighting acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
In Owasso at the last WFC show, Jon Cross became the 4th wrestler to win the Hometown Heroes Title as he defeated "Mr. Nasty" Robert Lee. Cross and Mr. Nasty used to be stable mates in the nefarious Caballero Cartel, led by Big Stevie Caballero. But in recent months, Mr. Nasty has been hearing the cheers of the fans and apparently saw the light, leaving the Cartel. That didn't stop Stevie Caballero and his out right war against WFC and its founder Tim Rockwell. In Skiatook in September, Caballero and his deep pockets were able to persuade Rockwell's long time friend Cast-Iron Cothern to join in his war. Cothern turned his back on his best friend Rockwell and the war took on a new level of intensity. With the addition of Cothern, Jon Cross holding the most sought after title in WFC, and with Dutch Hagen back in the fold, The Caballero Cartel is reloaded and have Rockwell, Mr. Nasty, and the rest of WFC in their crosshairs.
Also at the last show, the WFC Board of Directors named a new Director of Wrestling Operations, none other than former wrestling star Dexter Hardaway. Hardaway had been a member of the active WFC roster until a year ago when he lost a match to none other than "Mr. Nasty" Robert Lee. Hardaway had put his career on the line for a shot at the WFC Hometown Heroes Title. Hardaway lost the match and was forced to retire. He has hosted 2 WFC events since, and his no nonsense approach is what drew WFC officials to offering him the position. Hardaway will continue to drive WFC to lofty heights.
The event will be held on December 7th at the Claremore Expo Center and will mark the first time WFC have held an event in Claremore. The doors open at 1:30pm and the show starts at 2:30. Tickets are just $5 for some hard hitting, family friendly, pro wrestling action. Proceeds from the ticket sales, the concessions, and the silent auction goes to Arleigh and her family.
