Wrestlers rally in Owasso, enter the ring for a good cause

Lookout, wrestling fans - Wrestling for a Cause is coming to Owasso! The bell for this event will ring at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 19, at the Owasso Sertoma Club. Tickets are only $5, and all the proceeds go to the Smedley family to help their daughter Ainsley battle cancer.

Founded in October 2011 by Tim Rockwell, Wrestling for a Cause has gone all over Oklahoma to help raise money for families battling a diagnosis of childhood cancer. Wrestling for a cause provides quality, family-friendly entertainment for all ages as they try to improve the lives of their communities and its members.

When asked why Wrestling for a Cause was created, Rockwell said, ?We did a show for a 4 year old (at that time) named Ryder, and six months later we did another one for [a girl named] Chelsea. They both passed due to this horrible monster, so I told myself Wrestling for a Cause is going to continue to help any family in need that needs it.?

He also called out other athletes, urging them to get involved.

?I would love to see more athletes get involved, not just in charity, but to get the word out about childhood cancer. [The fact that] September is childhood cancer awareness month is usually forgotten.?

The Owasso event will be hosted by Johnny Z, and will feature the battle between founder Tim Rockwell and Cothern, with "Big" Stevie Caballero. But that's not all! There will also be a match to defend the titles between the WFC Tag Team Champions: The KC Wolves (Graham Bell & Luke Langley) and Team Bull (The Bronze Bull & The Brass Bull).

As if that wasn't exciting enough, there are also rumored appearances by wrestlers such as WFC Hometown Heroes Champion ?Mr.Nasty? Robert Lee as well as Maddox Jones, Jonathan "Down Right Fierce" Cross, "Larger Than Life" Jermaine Johnson, "Lights Out" Jordan Jacobs, "Big Business" Damon Windsor, and more.

So bring your family, come watch the biggest wrestling event of the season, and help a struggling family get back on their feet. Doors open at 1:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.wfccharity.com. You can also check out their Facebook at www.facebook.com/wrestlingforacause or follow them on Twitter @wfccharity
