Not A Victim! Brittany Foxx Fights Like A Man

Posted: Sep 4th 2014 By: CMBurnham

Some say that wrestling is a man's sport. Some say that women have just as much right to be involved as men. And some say that if women want to be involved, they should expect to be treated like men.

Brittany Foxx has never had a problem handling herself amongst the male talent in the companies she has participated in. An extensive feud with Blue Thunder and her status as a former UWE Champion are both signs that she is not afraid to mix it up with male competition.

But expecting to be a competitor and being victimized are two separate things. And Foxx's association with Jon Cross as put her in the cross-hairs of MSWA Mid-South and WFC Tag Team Champions The K. C. Wolves in recent months.

Foxx was present at ringside when Cross lost the UWE Title to Tim Rockwell. The betrayal of the Wolves made that possible and Foxx was outraged at their behaviour. But the further actions of the Wolves have revealed a dark disturbing side to them, not seen in other federations. The UWE Wolves are demented and have sunk to depths of behaviour unheard of by most pro wrestlers. Especially when it comes to dealing with Foxx.

Two months ago, Cross demanded a 2-on-1 Handicap Match against the Wolves in an attempt to gain some retribution for his title loss. The Wolves gladly accepted and Cross understood what he was getting into. But Foxx did not want Cross to have to compete alone and came to the ring to be her husband's tag team partner. Cross was not happy about this development, but Foxx was insistent and eventually Cross acquiesced, but demanded that Foxx just stay in the corner and let him handle the match. Cross fought valiantly, but the numbers game caught up with him, yet he still refused to make a tag. So Foxx tagged herself in at one point, but was quickly overcome by the Wolves. Cross could only watch as his wife was tortured in the ring and at one point, he went so far as to scream at her that she should just stay down and let them pin her to get the match over with so she could be safe. Foxx refused to quit, knowing that would send a message of weakness about her and was finally able to get to her corner and tag her husband in. The action then broke down as the Wolves looked to unleash the double Superkick on Cross, but Foxx double clotheslined them both. Foxx could not keep it up though and soon found herself in the same position that Cross had been in, but just before she received a double superkick to the face, Cross shoved her out of the way and took the impact himself. Graham Bell was outraged, screaming that it was supposed to be Foxx, but covered the fallen Cross and picked up the victory for his team. That was not enough for the dastardly duo, who proceeded to attempt to unleash more violence against Foxx until Brandon Walker came to the rescue. Once Cross was revived, he demanded that Foxx get on her feet because she was not going to be beaten like that. Revenge was on his mind, but they would have to wait a month to see the opportunity for it.

One month later, Bell and Luke Langley found themselves in singles competition against Foxx and Cross respectively. Langley and Cross opened the August UWE event. It was a match that demonstrated much of the skill and perseverance that both men regularly showed in other matches. It appeared that Cross was going to be able to start the night off with a victory, but as he prepared to go for a brainbuster on Langley, Bell hopped up on the ring apron and was quickly yanked off by Foxx. Those two battled to the back, but the distraction drew Cross away as he was concerned for his wife. That gave Langley enough time to compose himself and hit Cross with a Death Valley Driver on his knee for the pin.

Cross could not rest easy knowing that he had lost the match, but he was probably even more concerned that Foxx was slated to face Bell one-on-one. And the sick, perverse expressions on the face of Graham Bell only served to make things worse as their match began. Bell quickly gained the upper and, after some initial humiliation by Foxx, began to toy with Foxx like a cat playing with its prey. On several occasions, Foxx attempted a wheelbarrow bulldog and towards the end of the match, that attempt saw Bell throw Foxx away from him and into the referee, knocking him unconscious. Bell seized on the opportunity and went outside the ring to grab a steel chair. Bell poised to bring it crashing down on Foxx, but Jon Cross ran out and entered the ring behind Bell, yanking the chair down and throwing it into Bell's face. Foxx attempted the wheelbarrow-bulldog one more time and Bell came crashing down on the chair, knocking him out and allowing Foxx to gain the victory, much to the crowd's delight!

Foxx has held her own and accepted her role in this war, but things will take a drastic step up on September 20th at Showdown as The K. C. Wolves will step into the ring with Jon Cross and Brandon Walker for a tag team war. Cross and Walker will certainly have their hands full against the 2013 Oklafan Tag Team of the Year. But the motivation that Foxx provides, both in her presence and her example by refusing to be a victim to the actions of the Wolves, may be the key to achieving victory in this match.
