Hell is Coming to IZW!

Hell is Coming to IZW!

Posted: May 15th 2007 By: CMBurnham

It looked as if IZW held all the cards in their war against MSWA two weeks ago. Aaron Neil had won the MSWA Oklahoma Title. Brad Michaels had defeated Ryan Davidson for the MSWA Mid-South Title. And IZW had left the staunch defenders of MSWA, especially MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champion Bad Boy, laying in pools of their own blood while the fans jeered and children cried. The carcas had been placed in the coffin and all IZW needed to do was shut the lid. Or so it thought. MSWA wasn't dead. It had only just begun to fight. And IZW never counted on what their actions would do to the MSWA locker room.

When Ryan Davidson & the MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champions, Bad Boy & Outlaw, came to the ring last Sunday, they walked with a stronger determination and looks that would make even the sturdiest of men quiver in their boots. Bad Boy took the microphone from Jesse Storm and called out Impact, Inc.. He then excercised his power as owner of MSWA, something that he doesn't tend to throw around, and ordered Brad Michaels to defend his title against Ryan Davidson that afternoon. Impact, Inc. didn't appear to be willing to cooperate and a giant "Chicken!" chant resounded from the audience. But as soon as they wanted to, Neil, Michaels & IZW owner and leader John Zorthos walked through the curtain to the ringside area. As has become customary for them, they immediately ran down the Midwest City crowd and the MSWA wrestlers, referring to Outlaw as a "knuckledragger" and Bad Boy as a "neanderthal". Zorthos pointed out that IZW owned the top 2 belts in MSWA and they're running things. He mentioned that if Bernie Donderwitz were at the show, they would take the tag team titles as well. Zorthos then declared that Michaels was NOT defending his title on this show as he is only contractually obligated to defend once every 30 days. He did offer a 6-man tag match to the MSWA forces and even sweetened the pot a little by saying that if the MSWA forces won, Brad Michaels would defend the MSWA Mid-South Title against an opponent that MSWA could pick. At this point, providence seemed to step forward as Impact, Inc.'s microphone went dead, frustrating them and they left before it could be restored to working order. Once the microphone was operating again, Bad Boy took it and accepted the match, announcing that if they won, Angel Williams would be the opponent for Brad Michaels.

When the time came for the main event, things looked bleak for the MSWA forces early on. Ryan Davidson suffered an unspecified injury to his ribs during the match which limited his participation, almost making it a 3-on-2 handicap match. Bad Boy was isolated and his knee was worked over for quite a while, but he eventually was able to make the hot tag to an injured Davidson. After a brief rally, Davidson was caught and held by Zorthos and Neil prepared to deliver the final blow, but Davidson moved and Neil hit Zorthos, allowing Davidson to roll up Neil for the pin. Embarrassed by this situation and knowing that their plan had backfired, Neil & Michaels grabbed the tag team titles and attacked the MSWA forces. Outlaw was handcuffed to the ring rope and they began to work over Davidson & Bad Boy. And then, an incredible sight, as the ENTIRE MSWA locker room, faces and heels, rushed to the ring together. The sight of this mass charge quickly convinced Impact, Inc. to leave, but they didn't go too far, standing at ringside and staring at the assembled group.

At that point, IZW Impact Division Champion John O'Malley picked up the microphone and said he was sick of IZW (something that many other members of the MSWA locker room were probably thinking). He said that even though he wrestled for IZW and held one of their titles, his heart was with MSWA. He ordered the assembled troops to chase Impact, Inc. out of the building and they did just that, chasing the IZW members out the front entrance. Bad Boy took that opportunity to remind the crowd that Angel Williams would receive his title shot at the IZW show on May 26 and Outlaw declared that "Hell is coming to IZW!".

Things look positive now for MSWA. Angel Williams delivered a telling blow last month, rallying the MSWA team from a 3-on-1 situation to win the tag team elimination match. He nearly cracked the skull of Gary Tool. But he will be on foreign ground, subject to IZW rules and possibly shenanigans when he takes on Brad Michaels for the title. If other members of the MSWA locker room, such as IZW Tag Team Champion Tyler Bateman or Tommy Smash stick up for MSWA, Williams shouldn't have a problem. But the underhandedness of Impact, Inc., and their desperation to be the dominant force in Oklahoma City, can not be underestimated.
