New #1 contenders, firings, hirings, and attacks. Just another night in SWCW

Posted: May 14th 2007 By: mikeiles

Saturday, May 12th at The Underground Arena was supposed to be a night that was going to impact the future of SWCW. By the end of the night, several questions had been answered, while new questions arose.

The night started innocently enough with SWCW Commissioner Mike Iles calling a staff meeting in the ring. As the wrestlers surrounded the ring, Commissioner Iles came out and made several announcements. He removed Outlaw from the main event and said that once and for all the feud between MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champion Outlaw and his brother-in-law Michael James would be settled. James was not at ringside so Iles gave Talon until the start of the match to find her husband or all of Corporate America would suffer the consequences. In fact, he laid down the law and forced Talon into a match with AACW Women's Champion Lady Venom. With Outlaw out of the main event, he inserted the youngster on the Corporate America roster, Tommy Smash instead. With AACW Mid-American Light Heavyweight & SWCW Sooner Xtreme Champion Dexter Hardaway sporting a suspicious injury to his right arm, he was allowed to find a replacement. The P.I.N.K. Nation was also short handed as well with only Luc Lapointe and Beau Dalton in attendance. Commissioner Iles stated that P.I.N.K. would be facing Big Daddy Moore, AACW Television Champion The Prophet, and Trailer Park Trash and since only Beau & Luc were in the arena, Ray Martinez would be donning the tights as well. P.I.N.K. was also granted time to find their 4th team member for the night. Iles closed saying the more announcements would be forth coming and dismissed the wrestlers. On the way out he held up ComPro & SWCW Tag Team Champions Texas Inc and their manager Big Stevie Caballero. He explained that since they liked to flout the rules, he was putting them in a 3-Way Elimination Match against two teams they had never faced before. He then brought Team Cothern and the debuting team of FCW Tag Team & NWA-U X Division Champion Justin Lee & Tai Ji, also known as Warrior Elite, accompanied by the lovely Missy D. Warrior Elite picked up the win and is now #1 contenders to the SWCW Tag Team Titles.

The Hardcore Match to name the new #1 contender for the SWCW Hardcore Title was next and Kevin James and Damien Morte were introduced along with the special guest referee SWCW Hardcore Champion & AACW Hardcore Champion Kareem Sadat. Morte picked up the win, then was attacked by Sadat who then also attacked James. Commissioner Iles came out and had security escort Sadat from the building out the front door.

The battle between the brothers-in-law was next and after Outlaw came to the ring with his tag team partner James Warbois, Talon came to the ring alone. Commissioner Iles then came to the ring and reminded Talon she had until match time to find her husband, Michael James. She reiterated that she did not know where he is. Iles said that if James did not show or Outlaw does in fact defeat James, Outlaw would get 3 minutes in the ring with his little sister. SWCW ring announcer Jesse Storm said he knew where James was and reintroduced Outlaw's opponent. He was no longer Michael James, he was once again The Roc-N-Roll Cowboy, who entered through the front door. Iles left laughing while Talon stomped her feet and pouted. It was back and forth for a while and Outlaw accidentally punched Warbois. When Outlaw went for the Choke Slam, Cowboy kicked him in the nether regions and gave him the One Second Ride and could have easily got the pin. But instead laid down and put Outlaw's arm over him to get pinned himself. So the 3 minutes in the ring with Talon was about to begin for Outlaw and he offered to let Talon get the first hit. Outlaw then was on the receiving end of a chair shot from Warbois. Outlaw then choke slammed Warbois for his trouble. Tommy Smash then attacked Cowboy who was then fired from Corporate America by his wife Talon.

It was now time for Luscious Larry to take on Dexter Hardaway's hand picked replacement, who turned out to be Matthew Emerald. Emerald, also making his SWCW debut tried using his speed to out wrestle "Luscious Vanilla". But it took a chair shot from Hardaway to put him down. The referee disqualified Emerld due outside interference but Emerald did not let up and continued beating on Larry until referees were able to break it up.

Coming out of intermission, Commissioner Iles came out to make a few announcements. Then the lights went out. Someone entered the ring and attacked Iles. The fans knew who it was and cheered. The attacker continued his onslaught. When the lights came up, Iles was on the mat and Kareem Sadat stood over him. Kevin James, Shane Sanchez, and Roc-N-Roll Cowboy came to the aid of Commissioner Iles, or so it seemed. As Cowboy and Iles were heading back up the ramp, Kevin James took the mic and said that he and Sanchez were brothers and in fact his name was in reality Kevin James Sanchez and now they would known as X-Rated. The fans, who had cheered Kevin James earlier in the night booed X-Rated as they left the ring.

Talon was then forced to wrestle against AACW Women's Champion Lady Venom. Without her Corporate America cohorts at ringside with her, she had no choice but to wrestle. She was outclassed, outwitted, and definitely outwrestled by Venom who picked up a rather easy victory.

So now it was 8 Man Tag Team Match time. Who was going to be the 4th team mate of P.I.N.K. Nation? Jack Dalton was on a wrestling tour of Texas. Bobby Dalton has not been returning phone calls from Ray Martinez. Paul Linam hasn't been seen in months. J. P. Steele was no where to be found. Ray used his massive connections and brought in IZW Tag Team Champion Tyler Bateman. The crowd was firmly behind the team of Big Daddy Moore, The Prophet, and Trailer Park Trash, who were accompanied by Jessi Jersey. Moore, Prophet, and TPT picked up the win and the crowd cheered wildly.

Before being attacked, Commissioner Iles changed the main event 3-Way Match to a non-title match. Striker actually requested the change saying that when (not if) he defeats SWCW Champion Rick Garrett he wanted to be sure that Garrett had no excuses to fall back on. Striker even put his #1 contender status on the line saying if he couldn't win the match he should be #1 contender. This intrigued Tommy Smash as he could have easily made a case for being named #1 contender if he were to win the 3-Way. It also intrigued Rick Garrett because if he were to win the match he would have beaten the #1 contender and looked unbeatable. Striker proved to the crowd that he was the #1 contender and picked up the win to remain #1 contender.

So let's recap...

Michael James is no longer Michael James and is now known as The Roc-N-Roll Cowboy, and he is no longer a member of Corporate America, being replaced by Matthew Emerald.

Outlaw and James Warbois seem to have split their alliance. Which way will the fans go on that one?

Kevin James turned his back on the fans stating his real name is Kevin James Sanchez and that he and Shane Sanchez are brothers, and they are now known as X-Rated. Why would Kevin turn his back on his hometown fans?

Can Texas Inc. have better fortunes if they are ready for Warrior Elite in the future, or could Texas Inc be reaching the end of the rope?

Kareem Sadat is the Oklahoma Legend of Hardcore holding both the SWCW and AACW Hardcore Titles. The fans wildly cheer him as well. Yet he attacked a member of SWCW Management when he attacked SWCW Commissioner Mike Iles. What kind of repercussions will come from the attack?

The P.I.N.K. Nation seems to be on a slide having to handpick replacement members on the fly. Does Jack Dalton, Bobby Dalton, and Paul Linam still bleed pink? Or is their time up as well?

Finally, Striker has solidified himself as the #1 contender to the SWCW Title held by Rick Garrett. How much longer will Garrett be able to hold off the challenge of Striker? When will the hunter become the hunted?

June 2nd has been announced as "Night of Champions" for SWCW at The Underground Arena. All titles will be on the line. Be sure to get there early to get a good seat!
