NWA Summer Clash returns to Benton, AR on July 4; "Gorgeous" Gary Young to be honored

It was announced today that "Gorgeous" Gary Young will be honored at the upcoming NWA Summer Clash on Friday, July 4th at 7 p.m. The premier National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) event of the year, NWA Summer Clash will feature "The Phenomenal" A. J. Styles, The Rock-N-Roll Express, Bushwacker Luke, NWA World Champion Rob Conway, NWA North American Champion Byron Wilcott and Matt Riviera of the Empire all in action at the Salina County Fairgrounds in Benton, AR. The NWA Summer Clash will be the featured event of the Saline County Family Fest slated for July 3-4.

Gary Young, a resident of the Little Rock, AR area, will be honored by the NWA with the Workers Choice Award. This award previously has been awarded to wrestling legend "Beautiful" Bobby Eaton this past April in New Orleans, LA. The Workers Choice Award recognizes a wrestling legend who is respected for his in-ring abilities by his fellow wrestlers. He was the guy that the other wrestlers wanted to wrestle because of his professionalism in the ring.

Young started his career in the late 1970's and wrestled throughout the Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Louisiana regions of the United States for the old Global Wrestling and Mid-South Wrestling organizations. Always known for his athletic look and charisma, Young held several regional tag team titles throughout his career. Now on July 4th at the NWA Summer Clash he will get his overdue recognition as one of the greats in the ring who made the Mid-South region of wrestling a hot bed for wresting in the 1970's and 1980's.

Tickets to the NWA Summer Clash include a $50 VIP ringside seat with a special pre-event meet and greet and photo session with AJ Styles and the other top stars of the event Bushwhacker Luke and the Rock N' Roll Express (Ricky Morton and Robert Gibson). Reserved seats start at $25. General Admission tickets are $10 and children ages five and under will be admitted free with an adult paid admission. Bell time for NWA Summer Clash on Friday, July 4th is at 7 p.m. Doors open at 6 p.m., with the VIP Meet and Greet starting at 5 p.m. At 9:30 p.m. the Saline County Fairgrounds will present its 4th of July Fireworks display as the conclusion of the July 3-4 Saline County Family Fest.
