Orullian And Reed Bring Hardcore Warfare To Lyons Switch

A man betrayed is a dangerous man.

J. R. Orullian thought it was worth everything to sell his soul to the Trenchcoat Mafia. In so doing, he became the NAW Champion and had a group that provided him with protection for that title. For almost 6 months, Orullian reigned on top of the NAW mountain.

But as soon as Orullian had that belt taken from him by Running Wolf in a Battle Royal, the Trenchcoat Mafia seemed to find no more use for him and he was expelled from the group. That began a war that has seen promises from both sides for blood, broken bones and destruction unseen before in the communities that NAW puts their events on at.

Prior to the May 24th event in Lyons Switch, Orullian posted a video on the NAW Facebook group, talking about how there would be a change coming for him. He was no longer the Iron Man. He would become the Iron Dragon. And he promised to unleash hell on Ryan Reed in a Hardcore match on May 24th. Both Reed and Orullian are well versed in the art of hardcore warfare and they knew what they were getting into. But even that foreknowledge could not prepare them for all the tricks they had prepared for each other.

Reed, being the more veteran competitor, brought is psychological game in full force. With NAW commissioner Amanda banning Reed's tag team partner Billy Ray from ringside, Reed was forced to go on his own. And even though Orullian used cookie sheets and tacks, Reed did the one thing Orullian was not expecting: he smiled. Every time he was it in the head with a weapon, he just smiled some more. And it began to get to Orullian, as at one point, he screamed in Reed's face, ?Why won't you stop smiling??

But even though Reed was willing and able to absorb the punishment being dealt out to him, Orullian came in with a plan. He knew he was younger. He knew he could absorb more punishment and was willing to do so. And perhaps the most important moment of the match came when Reed prepared to go to extreme measures and failed. Reed had dragged a table out from under the ring earlier and set it up on the round beside the ring. After battling with Orullian for quite a while, Reed then procured some lighter fluid and matches from under the ring and prepared to light the table on fire and drive Orullian through it. But the bottle of lighter fluid would not open and after struggling with it for quite a while, Reed finally threw it to the side and proceeded. The time that Reed spent focused on the fluid bottle may have been just the time Orullian needed to recover as he scoopslammed Reed on the table, then dropped an elbow on him from the ring apron, bringing an end to the match and scoring a very important victory in his war against the TCM.

This was just one victory, though. And by June 14 at the next NAW event in Chewey, it seems quite likely that the Reed and Ray will have a new battle plan for their war with Orullian.
