Civil War in New Canada?

Civil War in New Canada?

Posted: Dec 21st 2005 By: oklastaff

The New Canada faction has long been a strong group in TPW. Among them, they?ve held every title available to them and have irritated the fans to no end. But it now appears that New Canada may be splitting up, due to some miscommunication.

This week?s TPW show started with a 4-way elimination match involving TPW Oklahoma Champion Romero Contreras, Mid-South Cruiserweight Champion Ryan Davidson and, from New Canada, TPW Champion Jon Davis and The Canadian Luchadore. It appeared that Romero would be at a serious disadvantage, as he had 3 people who were gunning for him. But approximately halfway through the match, the Canadian Luchadore was handed a pair of brass knuckles, which he attempted to use on Romero while Davis held him. Romero ducked and the Luchadore knocked out Davis, which actually led to a double elimination as Romero and Ryan each covered a member of New Canada and got the pin.

While the match continued in the ring, the members of New Canada began to argue amongst themselves. TPW Light Heavyweight Champion The Canadian Red Devil seemed to take Davis? side, while AWOL supported the Luchadore. All 4 members went to the back arguing.

The Devil and AWOL were both involved in seperate matches later that night, but came to the ring alone, furthering the theory that New Canada is not getting along right now.

Jon Davis & AWOL hold the distinction of being the longest reigning tag team champions in Oklahoma history. They held those titles from 5-21-04 until 7-12-05, when all TPW titles were vacated, due to a change in ownership.

The Canadian Red Devil is currently the the longest reigning champion in TPW, holding the Light Heavyweight Title since 8-13.
