Bud Guffey remembers The Ultimate Warrior

As I've went through the day, I've thought a lot about the Ultimate Warrior. I don't know how many times I donned the face paint, tie shoe laces around my upper arms, and imitated Warriors music with my voice.

As I aged, I thought Warrior was arrogant and put too much belief into himself, as a character. Then, when WWE released the "Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" DVD, it dawned on me...he is a Warrior.

He is one of the few that proved he didn't need Vince McMahon, and I think that pissed Vince off. That's why Warrior is the only superstar in history, that I can think of, that had an entire DVD dedicated to the slandering of his character.

I e-mailed Warrior once about some gym equipment that he had for sale. I wanted it for a rec center for the kids in my town. Although he has already sold it, he took time to e-mail me back and wrote a brief message. I thought that was cool.

I'm glad he made amends with WWE. I'm glad he believed highly in himself. I think it's imperative to reach that level of success.

I saw one of his knife paintings online. It was his face...half of it the Ultimate Warrior of old with the paint, the other half was his face now without the paint, with gray hair. To me, that painting said, no matter how old you are, there's always a Warrior inside of you.

Thank you Ultimate Warrior for all the years of entertainment. I'll always believe. #RIPWarrior
