Bostic Determined to Show UWF06 Competitors who "The Boss" Really Is.

Posted: May 1st 2007 By: CMBurnham

There's an old saying: "Don't cross the boss". OPW President Pete Maguire had a T-shirt made with that saying on it. Practically every major company's CEO has used that motto, officially or otherwise. And now, even though he's the new kid on the block, UWF06 CEO Jerry Bostic wants to take the opportunity to throw his weight around....all 203 pounds of it.

Bostic is not an impressive man by his size. He's not overly muscular. But what he lacks in physical presence, he more than makes up for in his actions. Bostic is not a man to be messed with as several of the UWF06 wrestlers have learned in the short existance of the company. Bostic's actions might be labled "abuse of power", but it doesn't seem to matter to him. He's going to do what he wants when he wants and anyone who stands in his way will suffer the consquences.

D Money knows what it's like to deal with the Boss. Money was forced to wrestle Bostic before he could get a shot at the UWF06 title back in October. Money defeated "The Boss" and Al Farat to become the 1st UWF06 champion, but that didn't sit well with either man. Bostic gained a measure of revenge by making his presence known at ringside in the return match and, with the help of his senior assistant Thomas Trump, Farat was able to throw a fireball in the face of D Money and win the UWF06 title.

Money is not the only wrestler that Bostic seems to have an issue with. "Hellacious" Javi Hernandez has drawn the ire of the head man as well. Javi defeated Trump in a tournament match to determine the #1 contender to the UWF06 title and on the same card, Bostic was eliminated from consideration by Monteego Seeka. Bostic then forced Seeka and Hernandez to face each other without giving Hernandez a rest period. But this backfired on Bostic again as Hernandez went 2-for-2 and became the #1 contender to the UWF06 championship.

So it should have come as no surprise that, when the show opened on April 28th, Jerry Bostic had plenty to say. He offered to increase the shows to twice a month, which brought cheers from the audience. He then indicated that he was going to have shows on the 1st and 15th so that they could use their food stamps and welfare checks to gain admission, which was much more typical of the caustic type of comment Mr. Bostic is prone to. He then demanded that Javi Hernandez come out, get down on his knees and beg for forgiveness for putting his hands on the boss last month. Hernandez refused, so Bostic said he was putting Hernandez in a Fatal 4-way match to determine the new UWF06 Hardcore Champion. Hernandez said that Bostic should let his "juevos" drop and be a man, which resulted in a scuffle between the 2 men, who had to be seperated by the referees.

That was just the beginning of the night for Bostic, who found himself in tag team competition with Thomas Trump against Montego Seeka & the debuting Thug Nasty. Seeka & Nasty, though having never tagged before, showed remarkable continuity and only frequent double team action from Trump & Bostic allowed them to get the win. And surprisingly, Bostic made no appearance during the Hardcore Title match, although perhaps he didn't need to as Hernandez ended up handcuffed to the top rope by one of his opponents and could only watch and encourage as "Ky-ote" Joe Herell pinned Shane Rawls to become the 1st Hardcore Champion.

But while Bostic may have let his issue with Hernandez set on the back burner, he would allow the same thing to happen with D Money. Money invoked his rematch clause for the UWF06 title and Al Farat reluctantly answered the challenge. After a hard fought match which saw Money appear to be on the road to recovering the title, Bostic & Trump came out and interfered. Bostic knocked the referee unconscious and Trump gave Money a Diamond Cutter. Bostic then slapped referee Brock Landers' hand to the mat 3 times and ordered ring announcer Josh Smith to ring the bell and declare the match over. A brief 3-on-1 assault occurred before Thug Nasty came to D Money's rescue. Money & Nasty announced that they were now to be known as Gangsta Nation and targeted Bostic, Trump and Farat as their first victims.

So, although he has no gold and no respect from the fans, Bostic still has lots of power and a great desire to use it broadly. Can the UWF06 competitors bring the power mad maniac back down to earth and take control of the company before he runs it into the ground? Or is it just a matter of time before Bostic walks away with everything and slams the door shut behind him?
