An Ego Trip With A Bad Landing! Jermaine Johnson Gone From Oklahoma Wrestling

The obvious drive for professional wrestlers is money. While there are those who say they would do what they do for free, this is an exaggeration as they understand the realities of what is on the line in terms of well-being and prestige.

But while money is the primary motivator, different things are secondary motivators. Sometimes its fame. Sometimes its a desire to give back to the fans who support them. And sometimes its about feeding a massive ego.

Jermaine Johnson has one of the biggest egos around. That ego came full front on March 9. And the ego led to his downfall and eventual elimination from MSWA.

When the March 9 MSWA event began, Impact, Inc. came out to address the crowd. Johnson said that the fans felt confident because Impact, Inc.still didn't have any titles as a result of February Fallout. Nonetheless, they were still were watching the standard bearers for wrestling. Johnson then pointed out that Johnny Z was missing and had not been seen since February Fallout. Jonson dropped a huge bombshell by announcing that, as far as he was concerned, Johnny Z failed at that event, not Impact, Inc. Therefore, Johnny Z was no longer a member of Impact, Inc. Johnson announced that there was a new Natural Born Leader for the group. That leader was more ruthless, a better performer and the most decorated wrestler in Oklahoma: himself. Johnson promised to being a path of destruction never seen in wrestling and would begin that day with the help of his Ace-In-The-Hole, Kevin Morgan.

Morgan, who had been absent from the festivities, came out, dragging AnnaLynn Storm with him to the ring. Johnson announced that AnnaLynn would be the first example of his new leadership and ordered Morgan to give her the Moment of Fear. Morgan got a gleeful look in his eye, but before he could execute the move, MSWA Mid-South Champion Damon Windsor came running to the rescue of his valet. Windsor was not concerned that he was jumping into a gangland style attack and suffered a 4-on-1 beatdown until the UWE & MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Champions The K. C. Wolves came to help out. At that point, Impact, Inc. cleared the ring and Windsor grabbed the microphone, saying that no one should ever put their hands on AnnaLynn. He immediately challenged the new leadership of Impact, Inc. to prove themselves by facing himself and The K. C. Wolves in a 6-man tag team match. Eager to prove his new leadership position, Johnson accepted and the impromptu match bean.

It was a decision that proved to be a mistake as ultimately Windsor would catch Johnson in a chokeslam and gain the pin. Johnson was irate and completely upset, taking the microphone and announcing to everyone who would listen that the loss didnt matter. Johnson, who also admitted to not winning a single match in 2014 (in MSWA, IZW or WFC) said it also didn't matter that Impact, Inc. couldn't regain the MSWA titles at the last event. All that mattered was that he was in charge now. Johnson, who was obviously growing more distraught and delusional by the second, declared that if he couldn't beat the next person to come through the curtain, he would leave MSWA. The other Impact, Inc. members looked amazed and began to beg him to reconsider that, but Johnson was determined and essentially issued an open call to the locker room. That call was answered by the MSWA Oklahoma Champion, Double D. D proudly took the microphone and said he planned to whoop Johnson's ass and send him packing, much to the fans delight.

Johnson seemed confident, despite concern from his fellow Impact, Inc. members. And it appeared that confidence had a solid reason when it came time for the main event. Johnson came to the ring first, then Double D was announced. But before D could make it to the ring, Kevin Morgan attacked D from behind, almost knocking him out. Morgan then hauled D to the ring and delivered 2 thunderous Moments of Fear, leaving D in a crumpled heap in the middle of the ring. Johnson declared that that was enough and sent Morgan to the back. He then turned his attention to the fans, believing he had all the time in the world. Johnson trash talked all the fans in the audience as D painfully pulled himself up into a corner. After Johnson finished, he turned around and charged into the corner, but D, having used the time to the best of his ability, leaped up and over Johnson, carrying him over in a sunset flip and scoring the win. In only 19 seconds, Johnson had lost everything he had in MSWA. His career there was officially over. But the evening wasn't over for him yet.

Mark Wilson and Erica had been at ringside during the match, but Kevin Morgan and Jordan Jacobs came out to join their fallen leader after his loss in an attempt to console him. And then, Impact Inc.'s music played and Johnny Z made his way down the runway. As Jermaine's eyes were focused on Z, Mark Wilson came from behind and delivered a nutshot followed by a vicious slap from Erica. Morgan hoisted Johnson up for the Moment of Fear. And then, despite a brief look of regret, Jordan Jacobs laid Johnson out with his own move, the ES-2. Finally, Johnny Z entered the ring, mocking Johnson by repeating his claims of being the new leader of Impact, Inc. Then, after warming up in the middle of the ring, Z delivered the Big Boot in the Corner, putting the period on Jermaine Johnson's tenure in MSWA.

The other Impact, Inc. members quickly knelt down to bow to Johnny Z, but Z did not acknowledge them, instead leaving the ring and returning to the back without saying another word. The remaining foursome quickly reassembled outside and left together, leaving Johnson to struggle to the back on his own. No tearful farewells. No apologies. Johnson left the same egotistical person who had come to MSWA 5 years before.

Johnson's run of bad luck would continue the following Saturday as he and Jordan Jacobs lost the IZW Tag Team Titles to Team Bull in a TLC Match. Frustrated by his complete lack of success in Oklahoma, Johnson announced that he was quitting IZW after that event. Rumour has it he plans to relocate to the Northeast and try to restart his career up there. Meanwhile, significant questions revolve around Impact, Inc. Is Johnny Z back as leader? If not, who will step into that position? Will there even BE an Impact, Inc. anymore?

Johnson's ego trip and subsequent fall leave a hue opening for members of both the MSWA and IZW rosters to fill.
