Oh, The Irony! Hipsters Busted Apart In Lego Death Match

Pain.

Pain is something that every wrestler knows they must deal with. They understand that the goal of being a champion doesn't come easily.

They will sweat. They will bleed. And they will pay the price to get that championship gold.

There are some, though, that will do even more. Because they are desperate. The titles validate them. They define them. Without them, they are nothing.

Jake O'Brien has long referred to himself as The Title Hunter. He comes into federations to pursue titles and he has been successful in gaining them on many occasions. SRPW, SWCW, MERC...all have seen Jake rise to the top.

O'Brien made it very clear from the beginning that he was in ComPro to become a champion. And by reconnecting with his former SRPW Tag Team Championship partner Jonah Turk, it seemed that O'Brien was well on his way to putting more championship gold around his waist.

Their main obstacle in this path to gold: The Brotherhood of Mayhem. The masked duo had certainly dominated the tag team scene in ComPro and OWA, winning titles in both places. And their championship reign at ComPro came at the expense of The Gentlemen Hipsters in a tournament final. But O'Brien and Turk didn't allow that to dissuade them. O'Brien & Turk quickly rebounded by defeating Malice and Sam Stackhouse. The Hipsters and the BoM then split singles matches in February, with O'Brien defeating Menace 2nd and Malice. It was enough to earn the Hipsters another ComPro Tag Team Title opportunity, but it wouldn't be just any match.

For the first time EVER, fans would get to see....a Lego Death Match.

Legos would be strewn on the mat. And as everyone knows, stepping on those things causes incredible pain. So just imagine falling on them. That was the future that both teams faced. And as all four men felt the sharp sting of the Legos, their endurance lessened. Perhaps their youth gave them an advantage or perhaps the absence of Mischief did not lead to the distractions that the BoM were accustomed to, but for whatever reason, The Gentlemen Hipsters appeared to be on the path to victory. Turk could sense the moment approaching as he turned Malice around to deliver the Turkish Delight...

...and was met with a swift kick from O'Brien, which annihilated Turk. O'Brien stared evilly at the crowd before leaving his partner, who was promptly finished off so that the BoM could retain their tag team old.

O'Brien would reappear after BPPW Junior Heavyweight Champion The Canadian Red Devil defeated ComPro Champion Dutch Hagen in a Tables Match for the title. Before CRD had a chance to celebrate, O'Brien slid in the ring and put CRD through a table, then stood over him with the title belt, making it clear that just because he wasn't focused on tag team gold didn't mean he still wasn't hunting titles.

O'Brien clearly wants to be a dual champion as he as put his career on the line against OWA Champion Brian Breaker on April 19 in Sperry. After that, it is quite possible that O'Brien will be targeting completely new venues, perhaps in MSWA or IZW. Where ever there are titles, O'Brien will put it in his sights.
