Mick Foley Interview Recap from The James Whale Show

The interview was opened by James telling Mick he looks younger. Mick said "he felt younger" He also believes he could pass off as a younger man.
They spoke about Val Venis who was stood in the hall way watching the show. He does the money shot taunt through the window and they talk about his porn star gimmick. Mick praises Vince for the way they built Val up with porn style vignettes.
Mick hailed wrestlemania as a success. Mick said the WWE can now attract better coporate sponsors thenever before and thats through cleaning up there image. He said the lightporn side of the WWE divas is going to be toned down. He said "the days of ECW strip poker are over" James was dissapointed and Mick agreed.
James Whale said he didnt like MMA as it was something trying to be a gladitorial WWE. Mick disagreed and put The Ultimate Fighter over.
Mick talks about his book and how it focuses on his comeback. James says you should buy the book becuase it has lots of photos and smells nice.
They briefly laugh at the WWF/E name change. James said Mick should have done a panda gimmick to get back at them. Mick claims theres already a panda that wrestles in japan and that he didn't want to get done for copyright.
Mick talks about raw in London. He says he will be on the show in some capacity but wont be wrestling.
James says that wrestlers should work naked so to be true to the sports origins. Mick said he didnt think his body could sell.
Mick put over the crowds influence when doing spots he says he just thinks of there reaction and not the pain. He says he had "no fear" about been pedigreed on to tacks.
Mick talks about losing 2/3rds of an ear. He said he had no idea he lost it but the referee picked it upand had it put on ice in the back. He said it was "surreal" and the doctors have done a "nice job" reconstructing he ear.
A fan asks if its scary running down the ramp to the crowds reaction. He says it's a relief usually aslong as you get a reaction. He says he would only be scared if the crowd didnt react. He said thats a problem AL Snow has had to combat for years.
A caller asks if Sting will ever be in the WWE. Mick said he "seriously doubts it" as Sting is happy with his life and can't commit to a full time scheduele.
Mick says he gets on well with most people backstage. Although him and Flair had real life heat when they feuded. He says there fine now but Rick has to much "self love"
Mick put over Terry Funk as his hardest opponent.
Mick sais he was pleased to be in the uk as uk fans are so polite. He says he often bumps into stupid fans whilst at the orlando theme parks.
Mick talks about his first book. He said he had writers to write the story but found they were boring. So fired them and wrote it himself as it feels better.
An 11 year old mark from whales calls. He says he relly enjoyed it when mick slammed Orton into loads of tacks. Mick responds by calling the boy "saddistic". The host and mick then lecture the boy about the dangers of backyard wrestling. Mick said "don't get the tacks out on the school yard you may upset you freinds"
Mick gives advise to a caller who want to know some tips about making it to the top. Mick said be realistic about getting to the top but enjoy the ride and take it easy in the ring.
Mick says its best to start as a heel because then when fans start cheering for you playing a face becomes easier.
Mick says wrestlers feel more responsible these days about the younger fans who may choose to immitate what they see on TV. Mick says the parents should encourage there interest but teach them to be safe and responsible.
Mick said his favourite match was against Randy Orton where he slammed him onto tacks.
He says booby lashley is probably the toughest legitamite fighter in the WWE.
Patrick from london calls and completly marks out. Before asking mick about his matches with Funk in japan. Mick said he was intense and would have done anything in those days to get the match noticed.
Another mark calls in and suggest Cactus Jack teams with Triple H. Mick said theres not really a niche for that and not many fans are calling for it. But he "would be interested" in working with Triple H in the future.
Mick talks about an upcoming film role in animorph? He will be playing a porn store owner with one line. Which he said he didn't learn and kept messing up. He says he learnt alot from De Foe (the star) during the shoot. He doubts he will win any awards for his role.
Mick says to his knowlege the weapons are real. And even thought they can create illusions in the ring in his experience weapons are real.
Micks all time favourite match is Funk vs Flair in 1989.
Mick talks about Paul Birchill. He said he made a good pirate and doesnt know why the WWE threw the towel in on it. He also put over Nigel McGuinness as the next big thing.
Mick finishes by promicing to appear on the show again in the future.
