Big week for my Sooners who host undefeated and 10th ranked Texas Tech this Saturday afternoon in Norman in what is essentially a Big 12 survival game for OU. Tech opened as an 8 point underdog for some reason but that has dwindled down to 6 1/2 points as many people are hanging their black hats on a Tech win. Those that took Tech +8 early on might have the best bet of the weekend in college football.

The last time that I drove to Tech from Norman I got stopped for going 72 in a 70 by a wise ass, Plainview, Texas cop who was a Tech fan and who made my 'speeding' incident more about the score of the just played OU-Tech game than public safety. Tech won that day and my ticket cost me almost $200 from a skinny guy with a gun and a Napoleon complex.

Driving down to Ardmore, Oklahoma Friday to have dinner with a Make A Wish young man. Looking forward to attempting to convert him from being an OSU Cowboy fan to the Sooner side. (Just kidding.)

The Q&A's here are updated and they run likely like your favorite sports team, hot and cold. Nonetheless, I've addressed those that made the cut.

It will be interesting to see how different the two Hell in a Cell matches are this Sunday on the next , WWE PPV. Because the handicap match featuring CM Punk vs. Paul Heyman and Ryback is more of an 'attraction,' so making the two, HIAC matches unique should be less challenging.

The money in that HIAC match is obviously Punk closing the current chapter on his issue with Heyman. In the old days, we cranky, old veterans like to use that term when possible, Heyman's fate would come to a graphic and definitive end. As I said, in the old days. Heyman means more to the match that does any of his villains. I expect Heyman to lose consciousness and to be stretchered out.

Hopefully, Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton will establish a helluva wrestling match before they start to utilize all the gimmicks that the giant, steel structure provides. That gives the fans the best of both worlds or so it would seem to me. Logic says that the underdog wins but who knows now days...?

The returning John Cena World Title Bout vs. the champion Alberto Del Rio feels a touch lost in the shuffle. Perhaps because it was made essentially out of no where or perhaps, Del Rio has little momentum, or because Cena is returning early from his surgery and he doesn't feel as if he's been gone that long to make his return even more special.

Happy to hear the announce team Monday night point out that ADR would likely target Cena's arm Sunday on PPV. Any time announcers can make believable, common sense points, no matter if they are a play by play guy or a color analysts, it helps the storytelling. However, telling back stories and constantly trying to fill in gaps in creative while story telling at the expense of not getting talent 'over' is a kiss of death. Conversational story telling doesn't always facilitate the imperative, emotional investment needed to establish and build stars of which the business revolves around.

Same old mantra for the other talents on the card...maximize your minutes and make the decision makers notice you no matter your role or minutes in the ring.

I wonder if any of the active wrestling promotions keep track of the number of mind numbing clotheslines that their performers utilize during a TV show or a live event? The more one sees, the less that they mean. Same goes for 'fighting' outside the ring. It used to be special now it feels as if it's an action to facilitate going to a commercial break.

I'd venture to ask why in the WWE Performance Center or any other wrestling school why even allow clotheslines unless it is one talent's finish.

While researching archived content for the autobiography that I'd like to write in 2014, I'm finding some amazing emails that I've kept for years. All those types of material generally sparks a memory worth writing about. The book is currently being pitched and that's a process that tests one's patience. Luckily we're finding ample interest.

Getting lots of offers to do a variety of things in New Orleans during WM30 week but so far I've declined as we've got other thoughts in mind at this time. Stay tuned.

I talked to Cowboy Bill Watts this week, who's doing well by the way, and brainstormed with him about a potential gig that he might want to do during WM30 week but it has nothing to do with what I'm pursuing.

Still getting tons of WWE Hall of Fame questions that I have no answers for but I will say that it is a head scratcher why men like Lou Thesz and Dan Hodge have not ben inducted. These two men, among others obviously, are no brainers. How can a viable argument be made as to why not?

Exciting news from UFC's Dana White Wednesday night on Fox Sports 1 about UFC's aggressive, TV schedule in 2014. When Fox Sports 1 succeeds, it will be certainly be partly because of it being the home of UFC. As a UFC fan, 2014 shapes up to be a an intriguing year especially if they can avoid being perceived as being 'over exposed' and, due to injuries, pure volume of fights, etc, not being able to promote consistently strong cards.

I look at it as a great opportunity for many fighters to maximize their minutes and move up on future cards and higher paying events.
