A. J. Styles May Be Next To Leave TNA
Posted: Aug 23rd 2013 By: CMBurnham
The contract of A. J. Styles is set to expire in just days and it was reported today that TNA has been making almost insulting offers in a weak attempt to keep him.
Company officials admitted that if Styles could find a better offer he would do well to take it and do what is best for the future of his family.
TNA has undergone a major cost cutting exercise in recent months including top names such as Tara, D-Lo Brown and Bruce Prichard leaving the company and the budget continues to shrink.
The recent departure of Brooke Hogan came as a surprise to some and there are those who believe that Hulk Hogan could be next when his contract expires in the coming months. Hogan is said to be contracted to Panda Energy and not TNA so that could be a factor in the decision to re-sign him but with TNA bleeding financially and with Hogan being absent for the last month, there are signs he may not return once his contract expires.
The agreement with Ohio Valley Wrestling is said to be tenuous at best as well and that association may be coming to an end sooner rather than later.
With workers not being paid in a timely manner, vendors not being paid in a timely manner and the cost of being on the road exponentially higher than TNA anticipated, the company seems to be on the precipice of collapse.
Rumors of bankruptcy continue to hound TNA and finger pointing has long been happening at TNA CEO Dixie Carter. Though the company officially denies they will be folding or seeking bankruptcy protection one has to wonder how much longer they can continue to cut costs and still produce a television show that people are interested in as well as continue to run house shows that often times draw less than 500 paying fans.
