Hello from sultry, Norman, Oklahoma! Stock up on JR's delicious products online at http://www.wweshop.com or in Manchester, England at http://www.americansoda.co.uk. Your support of our family brand is greatly appreciated. LET'S GRILL!!
Enjoyed Raw Monday night from Green Bay. WWE did a nice job of focusing on the two, main event bouts, Cena vs. Bryan and Punk vs. Lesnar.
There seems to be multiple twists and turns as to where the WWE Title situation may evolve. With the McMahon Family involved, the likely show closing main event could end in a myriad of manners. Obviously one can't omit MITB winner Randy Orton from this scenario either.
I think that Bryan and Cena will match up well and with the added elements that could be put into play, this match should be excellent. No reason for it not to be. It could be a match of the year candidate and, arguably, might not be the match of the night.
Loved the physicality of the Punk- Lesnar business in Title Town, sorry, Packer haters. I expect to see plenty of slobber knockers from these two at Summer Slam. Both men like to be physical and to push their adversaries to the limit which endears both to me. What if I said that I think that this match could well end in a submission, would you think that I'm Pet Coon goofy? Never say never in the WWE as both men love to look for tapouts. Is it likely? Probaly not but it certainly could happen.
Paul Heyman could certainly be the wild card in this match and one has to assume that Happy Heyman will be involved to some degree. To what degree could determine how this first meeting of Punk and Lesnar ends. By first meeting, I hope/expect there to be another one on one wrestling match between the two.
HUGE opportunity awaits Bray Wyatt at S'Slam vs. Kane. Curious to see how the newcomer responds under the summer lights of a major PPV. I'm thinking that he will do well. It's in his genes.
Summer Slam was always one of my favorite PPV's to broadcast back in the day. It just seemed to be timely as it relates to the time elapsed from WrestleMania. I will be comfortably and happily watching the event from the 2K Sports Suite in the Staples Center come show time.
Speaking of 2K Sports, we have big news coming from them next Saturday afternoon at AXXESS that I will partner with The King to deliver. Big news indeed regarding WWE's newest video game.
My autograph session in Los Angeles is Sunday, the day of Summer Slam, at AXXESS from 1-3 p m.
This Saturday I'm doing a FREE appearance, thanks to Homeland Grocery stores, at the Norman Homeland on Lindsey street from 1-3 pm. FREE food, autographs and photo ops for all. Plus, great deals on all JR's products. Super prices and NO shipping charges. Come see me if you're in our area.
Hope this Johnny Manziel fiasco is resolved to where the Heisman Trophy winner can play this year for the Texas A&M Aggies who are coached by my great friend Kevin Sumlin. If the alleged witnesses refuse to cooperate with the NCAA, the NCAA's case is toast. Players should be able to make some extra cash in legit manners such as appearing at autograph shows, etc. The rules against players making extra money is SO antiquated. Aside from that Manziel seemingly needs stronger parenting. I know how my Dad would have handled this matter and it wouldn't have made a damn bit of difference if I was 20 years old or not.
Loved HBO's 'Hard Knocks' Tuesday night on its first episode of the season. There's got to be money in a DVD of this series with all the great content that did not make air on the one hour broadcast. By the way, the Bengals look much improved over past seasons and they were much improved last year. Former Sooner Jermaine Gresham is a big time tight end who was one of my guys while he played in Norman for OU. He's from Ardmore, Oklahoma where there is a Whataburger at exit 32 on I35. Just saying'.
Go to WWE.com and check out the trailer for the upcoming, September 10 release of 'Legends of Mid South Wrestling' which is another in the long line of superb, WWE DVDs. Many of us got our 'degrees' from the big Cowboy and by working in Mid South.
There are like 10-12 tickets still available for my upcoming Cardiff show and about 100 for the Manchester event which is on the same night of a Manchester United vs. Chelsea football game so we have rough competition. Nonetheless we have sold more tickets to the Manchester event than any other show on the tour. London and Glasgow are sold out. if you want info on tickets, etc, please check out http://www.psievents.eventbrite.com/.
Update to my site are coming soon. Sorry for the inconveniences in how my blogs are structured. Bear with us.
