As part of the angle, when JYD was selling his "blindness" JYD's wife gave birth in real life to their first child. The storyline said that JYD "could not see his new daughter". As a result, The Freebirds required police escorts to and from venues. The blowoff saw "blind" JYD and Michael Hayes wrestling in a dog collar match.
