WWE News: Rumored Booking Changes in Store for Jack Swagger
Posted: Feb 21st 2013 By: mikeiles
Well, this should come as no surprise.
It appears the WWE may be going in a new direction with Jack Swagger.
From F4WOnline.com (via WrestlingInc.com):
No confirmed word yet on what kind of actions, if any, WWE will take against Jack Swagger after his arrest on Tuesday night. The only thing we've heard is that they were considering "booking changes" which can't be good for Swagger.
Ultimately, the WWE really has its hands tied here. On one hand, Swagger has been paired with one of the most controversial personas in WWE history. Not only was this gimmick beginning to pick up some steam, but the company found itself defending the storyline against criticism in the media.
On the other hand, it's almost impossible for the company to keep Swagger in the main event at WrestleMania, especially considering his title shot will occur the night after inducting Bruno Sammartino into WWE's Hall of Fame.
In case you were unaware, Sammartino agreed to sign on due to the changes that the company made to both content and Wellness Policy. Giving Swagger a shot at the World title would be a slap in Sammartino's face.
If this happened one year ago, there would be more of an argument for the WWE continuing with the push, simply due to the amount of press the company is receiving from Swagger's current angle.
Unfortunately, it seems that Swagger's poor choice will not only affect him, but it could also alter the future of Zeb Colter (Dutch Mantell). In the end, we will have to wait and see what happens with Swagger and his push.
