WWE Elimination Chamber 2013 Results: Jack Swagger Is PPV's Biggest Winner

There were many winners walking out of the 2013 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view, but none carry the momentum that new No. 1 contender Jack Swagger currently holds after winning the six-man Elimination Chamber match.

Swagger was an afterthought to the WWE Universe for months, but a return with a new manager (Zeb Colter) and a new song signals a big push for the former champion and new No. 1 contender.

It?s about time Swagger got the credit he deserves.

The new gimmick and manager complete the package, and along with Swagger?s abilities in the ring, it?s clear that the once directionless superstar has a purpose in the WWE.

From Nothing to No. 1 Contender

When Swagger told then-general manager A.J. Lee that he needed to take some time off, many fans thought that it would be the end of the road for the collegiate wrestler in the WWE.

Two straight years of misuse gave the WWE Universe little hope that the company would handle him any better when and if he returned. Upon his return, Swagger didn?t have much of a different gimmick than he had before and people were confused.

After winning the No. 1 contendership, there is no questioning that this is Swagger?s time to shine.

Swagger beat all former world champions (Mark Henry, Randy Orton, Kane, Daniel Bryan and Chris Jericho) to gain the honor of going on to WrestleMania to fight Alberto Del Rio for the World Heavyweight Championship.

That?s a monster push.

The Zeb Colter Effect

?Dirty? Dutch Mantel may not be a mainstream name that the common WWE fans would know, but his latest character ?Zeb Colter? is exactly what Swagger needs to get over with the crowd.

Swagger has never been the best mic worker in the WWE and his promos have left a lot to be desired over the years. Colter will add the fire to Swagger?s speeches that he needs to be as dominant on the mic as he is in the ring just like it did Sunday night.

Like a Paul Heyman to a Brock Lesnar; to a lesser extent.

This edgy gimmick is something that is a hot topic in popular culture, and anything that can be related to the hottest news stories in the world at the time makes the gimmick even more interesting. That?s what made the Attitude Era fun and entertaining.

The best part of the win at Elimination Chamber is the xenophobic duo will now go on to face the Mexican aristocrat Alberto Del Rio for the world title.

This angle has the potential to get dangerously close to crossing the decency line, but if the WWE can keep it PG, this will be one of the most intriguing characters in recent memory.
