WWE Elimination Chamber: Why Jack Swagger Should Come Out Victorious
Posted: Feb 17th 2013 By: mikeiles
"We the people." That is the new slogan being used by Jack Swagger, who recently returned from a lengthy hiatus. This time, Swagger has found himself a manager in the form of Zeb Colter, also known as Uncle Zebekiah or, more famously, as Dutch Mantell.
Following a dominant victory over Zack Ryder on Monday, Swagger and Colter proceeded to send somewhat of a controversial message to the WWE Universe, proclaiming themselves real Americans.
Swagger will take part in the Elimination Chamber match this Sunday along with Randy Orton, Mark Henry, Chris Jericho, Kane and Daniel Bryan. While Swagger may seem like somewhat of a dark horse to win the match, he is the man that should win the match.
Swagger has come back with a new focus and looks as good as he ever has in the ring. With Colter in his corner, Swagger has what it takes to be champion once again. But why should Swagger, long considered just a mid-level performer, be thrown into one of the main event slots at WrestleMania?
If Alberto Del Rio is to retain his World title over Big Show on Sunday, it sets up a very interesting program between he and Swagger, should Swagger survive the chamber match. Del Rio, a despised heel for the majority of his WWE career, has recently gotten over with crowds in a big way. How would fans perceive him facing the "real American" at WrestleMania.
WWE has had many Superstars defend the honor of America in the past, but has the American hero ever gone into a match of that magnitude as a heel?
The promos leading up to a Del Rio-Swagger clash would be heated, leading to passionate crowds and an interesting, fresh title match.
It appears that time away from the ring has done Swagger plenty of good, as he has looked excellent in the ring since coming back. Giving him Colter as a manager just adds another dimension to him and together, they can create a great angle leading into the biggest pay-per-view event of the year.
Swagger will be in the chamber with some big names, but a win for him would re-launch his career. Del Rio defending the World title against him at WrestleMania 29 may not sound great to some now, but not only does it make a lot of sense, it would make for a great matchup.
