Stackhouse Is Pinpoint In Troublesome Love Triangle

It's not quite Valentine's Day yet, but a love triangle is already causing havoc in SRPW.

Since the days of MERC, Selena has faithfully accompanied Ray Martinez to ringside, using her feminine wiles and duplicity to help Ray rack up some impressive wins. And in many instances, her participation in the match has been crucial.

But that bond seems to be falling apart based on the events of this past Saturday. Martinez faced off against Clint Cassidy, but was obviously distracted by Selena's inattention to the match. She seemed uncharacteristically preoccupied with her phone and Martinez even took one opportunity to verbally berate her for this. Later in the match, Martinez draped Cassidy over the second rope and drew the referee to the far side of the ring. Normally, this would be the moment where Selena clocked Martinez's opponent with her (allegedly) loaded purse. But Selena refused to cooperate this time and Martinez only grew more irate. Martinez was still able to pull out a victory with a Codebreaker, but it was obvious that the happy couple had seen better days.

The source of Selena's distraction would not become known until the second half of the show, which featured a battle of former SRPW Champions as Luc Lapointe took on Sam Stackhouse. Stackhouse had already had a rough night, being unceremoniously kicked out of the Golden Alliance because he lost the SRPW Title to Kid Krazy. A victory here would have done a lot to restore Sam's faith in himself, but after he connected with a 2nd-rope splash, Lapointe writhed in pain and claimed to the referee that he had suffered broken ribs. As the referee turned his full attention to Lapointe, Martinez emerged from the back and hit Stackhouse in the head with a frying pan so hard it left a massive dent in the cooking untensil (and possibly in Stackhouse's head). Stackhouse was easy pickings at that point and Lapointe picked up a simple win. Martinez then revealed to the crowd that he had discovered that Selena and Stackhouse had secretly been texting each other for some time and proceeded to dish out more punishment. Selena came running to ringside, but could only watch in horror as Martinez physically abused Stackhouse even more before leaving his prone body in the ring.

They say Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, but no one ever mentioned anything about a scorned proud Mexican athlete. But Stackhouse isn't likely to just tuck his tail and run. He has his pride. He has his newly reacquired support from the fans. And now, he has the admiration (and maybe more?) of a woman all motivating him in his upcoming battles.
