AJ: I'll Never Tone Down My Style
Posted: Dec 13th 2012 By: CMBurnham
HIGH-FLYING TNA superstar A. J. Styles has promised fans he will never change the wrestling style that made him famous.
AJ has wowed TNA fans for the last decade and had world-famous adrenalin-fuelled encounters with the likes of Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle and perennial rival Christopher Daniels.
He is now 35 but still wowing in the ring each week on Impact Wrestling, told SunSport: ?You know I feel you pick your time and place to do crazier stuff and I do that.
?I pick my spots and use them wisely.
?I?ll not tone it down until I stop wrestling.
?The most brutal match I?ve had where I picked my spots was the Last Man Standing bout with Daniels, we took some hard bumps there and you really felt the difference between being in the ring and out of it.
?But we wanted to make the match stand out and we did just that.?
AJ also revealed how he is currently writing a book about his life in and out of the ring, despite being ?boring?.
He added: ?I do have a book in progress. It is early days so far.
?What I hope to do is tell the story of my early life and bring it right up to my wrestling career.
?I will include some behind the scenes stuff and whilst my faith will be included, there will be wrestling stuff there for the fans too.
?I personally think I am rather boring, but there is interest and I think the fans deserve to know how I got into the business and how I have felt about certain situations.
?The big problem is I don?t have notes or diaries, which isn?t good when you get dropped on your head for a living.
?I will be using my family and friends to help me out with some pieces.?
Before signing off, AJ wanted to let all SunSport?s readers that he is looking forward to coming over to the UK and Ireland with TNA in January for live events and TV tapings.
He added: ?Everyone in TNA looks forward to these shows all year.
?The UK fans really seem to appreciate us. Maybe it is the fact we only get over there once a year.
?I am also glad we are heading back to Ireland again as well.
?If I booked things I?d like to see us making two trips there a year and doing some new places such as Belfast.
?Mind you if I was in charge I?d probably change a few things elsewhere too.
?I hear we are taking the Lockdown cage with us too this year.
?That will be interesting and the fans will enjoy seeing what our talented locker room will do in that.
?British fans are ones I personally enjoy wrestling for.
?They are not as loud and don?t try to get TV attention, they enjoy what we do in the ring.
?If I am out there busting my butt, it is good to know the fans are actually enjoying it.?
