Wilson Makes An Impact!

Wilson Makes An Impact!

Posted: Dec 6th 2012 By: CMBurnham

In recent years, no one has represented the incorruptible voice of authourity like referee Mark Wilson.

A mainstay at IZW and ComPro, Wilson had a long tenure at MSWA. But he had been absent since that federation had restarted, citing conflicts with other jobs as his reason for not coming down.

So it was a surprise to see him at the MSWA event two Sundays ago. And Wilson appeared to be in his regular form, refereeing the opening two matches which featured representatives from Impact, Inc. who were victorious in back-to-back matches. And Wilson was back out again for the main event, which saw Jermaine Johnson & Jordan Jacobs defend thier MSWA Mid-South Tag Team Titles against Nemesis.

The war between these two teams has been waged almost since Impact, Inc. set foot back in MSWA. It appeared at Mid-South Mayhem that Damon Windsor & Damien Morte had regained the tag team belts, but the match ended up being ruled as DQ in favour of the challengers, depriving them of their championships.

This time, Nemesis sent the message early that they were not there to play games. Before the bell could ring, all 4 men battled outside and around the arena, using the bell table, the concession stand and various seats as weapons to hit each other with and throw each other into. Wilson struggled to maintain control of everything in order to get the match underway, but once started, he showed that he meant business. He even ejected MSWA & IZW commissioner Erica from ringside when she got physically involved in the match early. Now down to simply the participants, both sides focused on tag team wrestling. And the match went back and forth with both teams having an advantage for long periods of time.

Then, the beginning of the end as Jacobs went outside and grabbed one of the tag team belts. While Mark Wilson is preoccupied with Damon Windsor, Jacobs goes to hit Morte with the belt, but Morte drop-toeholds Jacobs, causing him to knock himself senseless with the belt on his own. Mark Wilson turned around, saw an unconscious Jacobs and the belt in the ring and questioned Morte as to his actions. But since he saw nothing, he could not render a decision. So he removed the belt from the ring. Johnson then went to the ring table and grabbed the OTHER Tag Team belt and got up on the apron before Wilson intercepted him. After a brief struggle, Wilson yanked the belt away from Johnson...

...and then threw it to Jacobs, who knocked Morte out with it right in front of him.

A quick 3-count later, Impact, Inc. were still your tag team champions. And Mark Wilson left the ring with them, smiling the biggest smile he could possibly muster.

What has happened to Mark Wilson? Are the pockets of Impact, Inc. so deep that they were able to buy off the best referee in the state? There are so many questions that need to be answered. And perhaps those will be addressed at the MSWA show this Sunday.
